hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2008 750ml bottle acquired in trade with valpoaj (thanks!!!). Bottle # 1224 / 1492, bottled Aug 2007 & Brewed in Sept 06. Gusher alert! Another one I’m glad I opened on the outside deck. This one just kept on coming out the bottle (slowly but surely). Poured a deeper and cloudy brown color with a huge sized off white head. Aromas of wood, earthy, a little funky, dark cherries, grape skins, cinnamon, and very light vanilla. Tastes of wood, earthy, the same light funkiness, chocolate, some dark fruitiness, and spices. Light alcohol in the finish. JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle 280/1452 shared by notalush. Deep brown amber beer, thin white head. Aroma is quite oaky with some light dill herbal character. A soft toasted oak character and a bit of wildness toward the back. Buttery and lightly vanillaish. heemer77 (3752), Savannah, Missouri, USA Dec 23, 2007 This is not an imperial stout. From a bottle shared by iowaherkeye, Bottle 1372. This is more of a winter warmer. A muddy, rusty brown body with a dense medium khaki colored head. The aroma is vineous with some cinnamon and baked apples. Notes of juniper. The taste has some light notes of cinnamon and a little bit of apple core. As it warms you get notes of pie crust and some tobacco, but it is subtle. Nicely made. goldtwins (3738), Nesconset, New York, USA Apr 22, 2008 Bottle 280/1452 (Brewed 06 and bottled 07) The cork exploded out with some beer loss. Poured a hazed brown color with an off-white head. The aroma started with herbal and spiced notes that made it almost smell like pickles. As it warmed it became nicer with some notes of leather and vanilla. The flavor had some light funk, wood and vanilla. The finish was woody. Lively mouthfeel.
