Rogueone (365), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jul 23, 2008 Bottle sampled @ Columbus tasting: Flavor here is funky, chalky, oak-laced, earthy citrus. Musty even. I was expecting a more sour beer from the aroma, however, I feel as if this beer straddles the line between sour and funky and is not too much of either. IrishBoy (2124), Bakersfield, California, USA Apr 10, 2008 750 ml bottle from Iowaherkeye, thanks Joey! Bot in 2006 #173/272; Nose of cherries, tartness, light barnyard, and oak; murky strawberry with a big pink head; flavor is lightly tart, with huge oakiness, bready yeast, and cherry-vanilla woody fruit flavor finishing up. Very good stuff! drewbeerme (1788), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 16, 2008 750ml bottle. once again, thanks to kan for sharing! pours murky dull red with no head. aroma of cherry pits and strawberry seeds. flavor notes of cherry, oak, mildly sour, but really acidic. finish is extremely carbonation fizzyness then it fades to a watery wasteland. i was really hoping for more but upland got it all. pantanap (746), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 16, 2008 bottle thanks to valpaj (thanks bro for your generosity!).....pours a little darker than red grapefruit and looks like a red cola. head is bubbly and doesn’t last for very long...aroma was a little harsh on the acidic side at first and then a bunch of tart cherries surface.....hugely overcarbonated and lingers on for two long. some cherry and oak qualites come into play with a litle sweetness as well but the carbonation kills most of it. soft vanilla but at the end, it all becomes a little watered down. goldtwins (3731), Nesconset, New York, USA Nov 3, 2007 Bottle 79/272. Poured a hazy red color with a medium sized pink head. Big tart leather notes in the aroma. Fairly fruity with good acidity. The flavor was quite tasty with fruit and leather. Nice cherry, cherry stone, yeast and tannins. Lively mouthfeel.
