after4ever (1641), Brier, Washington, USA Feb 12, 2008 750, corked and baled. This is the oak-aged version. Bright rubied medium amber with bright caramel highlights. Light gray film of a head. Big green apple nose with plenty of light rice vinegar and sharp funky cherry notes. Medium body, fizzy. Sharp oaken notes under granny smith green apple mid-palate. Long dry finish. Wonderful stuff. FirmButtstone (10), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA May 14, 2008 (thanks IowaHerkeye for the bottle) Sour nose, flowers with a nice spice. This beer really has it all for me. Well rounded, the nice thing is the sour lambic nose / taste to this beer. The oak is very prominent which really helps with the finish. I have had 3 of the Upstream Specials and they are all worth seeking out. Very good. ogglethorp (752), Ohio, USA Apr 29, 2008 Bottle shared at DLD by some generous soul, cheers. Pours clear amber color with a small white soapy head. Aroma is oak, vanilla, sour apple. Flavor is oak, sour apples, peaches, alcohol. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished slightly acidic and tart. This was wonderful. golubj (945), Redwood City, California, USA Mar 15, 2008 Shared, thanks to notalush. Gold / light amber pour. Aroma is oak, slightly tart, and sugary. Flavor is very sweet, candy sugar, tart fruit, and oak. Very tasty overall. notalush (1971), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Mar 15, 2008 Thanks to valpoaj for this bottle - medium gold beer - semi-tart and tannic white wine-like aroma, very light funkiness, light herbs, apple skins - really soft but full carbonation - some light honey character, apples, mild tartness and acidity - white grape tannins that try to balance the sweetness - mild spices and alcohol - the oak is understated but present - another really nice beer from these guys.
