ekstedt (1792), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 9, 2008 Bottle (50 cl) purchased at a gas station near Lützen, Germany. Pale golden, medium white head. Strawish malt aroma with some faint herbal hops. Dry with moderate bitterness. As a curiosity: the dude on the label is the swedish king Gustav II Adolf, who was killed in a foggy balttle in Lützen during the Thirty Years’ War. He is also the founder of my hometown Göteborg.
Ethereal (880), London, Greater London, England Aug 24, 2008 On tap at Champions bar, the Marriot Hotel, Leipzig, 20th August 2008. Clear gold with a small white head. Malty typical pilsner aroma. Gets hoppier as it warms. Taste-wise, generic pilsner. Malty aftertaste. Marsiblursi (1400), Göteborg, Sweden Jul 26, 2008 (Bottle) Pours clear golden with a small creamy white head. The aroma is near medium malty and hoppy with herbal and straw-like tones up front alongside undertones of grass, hay and bread. As the beer gets warmer, you get some sweet honey/tiny fruity tones on the nose. The flavour is light to medium grassy bitter with a light sweet, tight straw-like malt backdrop. The mouthfeel is clean and light to medium dry with a light metallic touch. Medium bodied. This lager is an ok and typical German Pilsner without any surprises up the sleeve. kappldav123 (973), Markkleeberg, Germany Dec 16, 2007 It’s not a bad beer, but also not a really good one. Very the same like some other famous German pilseners. yarry (351), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada May 17, 2007 Brought back from Germany, My german uncles beer of choice. 0.5cl 5% a/v
Pours gold in color with a generous head. Nose of wheat, grass, some slight malt and citrus. The taste is of much the same, with a slight skunk aftertaste followed by hops. Pretty damn good beer, but maybe im a bit biased lol.
