MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany Oct 16, 2006 (swing top bottle) Slightly hazy, amber colour with a medium-sized, slowly lacing yellowish foam. Moderately sweet malty, slightly toasty aroma. Initially sweet malty, later drying out, getting slightly bitter towards the malty finish with delicate, well-balanced hops. Nothing special, but pretty drinkable. pivnizub (3826), Porúří, Germany Apr 26, 2006 Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep golden to light amber coloured, mid-sized fluffy head, quickly diminishing to a small foamy layer; sweet malty and honey in the nose, molasses and raisins too, not to forget the hoppy traces; rather sweet, a bit alcoholic flavour; short, sweet-malty (with a taste of honey) finish, some faint hoppy edges....A bit too much on the sweet side, but all in all a clean and drinkable, medium-bodied Märzen. Hunsell (398), Amsterdam, Netherlands Feb 25, 2006 Grabbed it out of a Rewe-market in Saalfeld. Pours a deep golden/caramel coloured beer with a just off-white unstable head. Sweet malts in the nose promise a sweet beer, slightly metallic as well, but nothing offensive. Not as sweet as I expected, more a dull malty taste with a fairly high level of carbonation. Slightly hopbitter aftertaste.
Empty mouthfeel to say the least, not bad, but very unspectacular. rpattinson (82), Amsterdam, Netherlands Oct 7, 2005 Grass, malt and vegetable aroma; sweetish taste with malt and caramel aromas; bitterish finish with caramel , hop, cardboard and dust aromas.
A blandish stronger beer. A bit of a dodgy aroma and some stale hop flavours. guzzler (77), AE, Germany Nov 15, 2002 Not bad. Smooth clean taste.
