COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our brewmaster Florian admittedly hasn’t dabbled in ciders too often. So when he described UCBC’s very first cider, Bushelhead, as estery and a little ’winey’ we weren’t sure if he wasn’t being a bit ’whiney’ himself. So we’ve declared that besides being a cider, "Bushelhead" is a homonym meaning ’winey’, ’strong cider’, or ’whiney’. Thus our tagline - "Bushelhead - A bushelhead, bushelhead created by bushelhead brewers.’ Stats: ABV - 7.3%, IBU’s - N/A, OG - N/A (Small Nonic)

On tap at Bridge Tap House in STL. Pours a cleat yellow with no head. Aroma is fresh apples. Slightly tart. A bit vinegary. Light bodied. Nice cider. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at baileys range during RBSG. From notes. This is like loads of concentrated apples smashed into a beer. Awesome.

On tap @ Urban Chestnut. Clear golden pour with a white head. Caramel apple, sweet apple juice, and green apple skin. Kind of sweet taste. Lots of sugar, apple juice/cider, and green apple. Light tartness on the finish. Kind of sugary and boozy.

Sampled at Urban Chestnut during RBSG. Pours a golden color with white head. Apple, fruity, very sweet aromas. A little overly sweet flavor.

Taster on tap at the brewery during RBSG. Mostly clear golden color. Thin ring of white head. Couple loose dots of lace. Looks good for a cider. Really nice finish. Golden apple color. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Moderate sweet taste, little tart. Solid, above average cider.

On Draught at Urban Chestnut.
The cider pours a lightly hazy golden.
The aroma is apply and lightly sweet with some spice to it.

The flavor is apply and a touch boozy. It’s got a light minerallity and some tartness. Overall the sweetness is higher than I prefer in a cider, but it’s fine.

4 oz draft pour at Urban Chestnut Midtown during RBSG 2014. Clear yellow with some off-white ring. Aromas of apples, perfume, apple juice. Tastes of apples, honey, floral, caramel. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel.

Draft flight on tap at the brewpub (St. Louis, MO). Pours a glowing golden orange hue, faint haze with frothy bright white rind atop, decent stick around as a ring with mellow lacing. Aromas sweeter, apple with bigger juice from concentrate, faint honey, fleshy sweet red apples. Sweet overall, juicy and sugary. Initial is a bit more manageable, decent body with sweet red apples, a touch tart with faint honey, apple juice. Middle is a bit sweet, faint cidery yeast cuts through the sugar. It’s not overdone as it’s not heavy or syrupy. Backend is a bit cidery, touches of apple and concentrate. Ok. The sweet nose isn’t as potent in the cider itself.

Draft. Clearer cidre pour. Way too sweet and estery though, sweet apple ad bubblegum.
