The original bock beers were developed in the Hanseatic town of Einbeck. When the bock style was adopted by Munich breweries, the term "ein bock", or "a billy goat", was eventually associated with the beer as a result of the Bavarian accent. This higher alcohol lager is Golden in color and travels well. OG 16.5 Plato (Goblet)

I had a draft sample of this but used the full goblet my wife got for the rating. Pours a semi-cloudy amber color with a small but lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel and bready malts, crackers, earthy and spicy hops. Flavor of caramel and toasted malts, grassy and spicy hops, and dried fruits. Medium-bodied, with high carbonation and a crisp, malty mouthfeel. Nice maibock.

Pours golden / copper with a large off-white head. The aroma has bready malt, spicy hops, light toast, lager smoothness and a bit of richness to it. Quite full body for the style and a decent amount of fairly sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with rich bready malts, light caramel, mild hops (still more prevalent than most bocks) and the nice smooth roundedness to everything like the better bocks I’ve had. The finish has a bit more hop presence and some phenolic spice, but this is still a malt forward beer. Really well done bock.

(draught) at Maifest, then again at tasting room; golden light amber with nice white head; aroma of sweetish malt; flavor is sweetish caramel malt, a hint of floral hops in the finish.
