Brown, English porter. Malty, thick taste. Dark and bitter with a bit of coffee tones. Not overpowering, a good appetizer.

Decent beer, but the nose promises more than the taste delivers. Rich nutty aroma and mahogany color, with sharp fore tongue and surprisingly little sweetness, given the nose. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Urban Chestnut. Pours a hazy deep brown appearance with a light brown head. Very roasty, light smoky, burnt malty, nutty aroma. Bitter herbal, burnt malty, charred, caramel flavor. Also got a note of KFC extra crispy chicken skin.

January 13, 2013 on tap at brewpub. Dark brown pour with head and lacing. Roasted malt, coffee and maybe some dark chocolate. Taste was consistent though somewhat mild and a bit thin.

Draft at Urban Chestnut. I was guessing a different malt bill based on tasting it. Pours a deep brown with a tan head. Nose reminds me of brown malt. Roast, char & earth. Minimal hopping. On tasting, light and dry. Bittersweet with more of that earthy brown malt character. Dry charred finish. I wasn’t a huge fan of this overall.

OK looking, a bit of head and ok lace, dark and typically porter in appearance. Roasty, toasty, some vanilla and cocoa/coffee aromas and flavors. Tasty! Very smooth, medium body, cocoa finish. A very nice porter. Another fine beer from UCBC.

Oh yes. Nutty. Sweet. Very drinkable. Light brown. Buttery and biscuits. Solid brown ale.

Tasted on tap at Eclipse into shaker. Poured a mostly clear, dark brown color with some chill haze and moderate beige foam which subsided to a persistent ring of bubbles, a little fine lace. Aromas of mild malts, husky cereal grains, bread, toast, roasted barley, fruity and flowery English hops (Goldings?). Fairly complex grainbill flavors: rich and roasty, nuts, caramelized brown sugar, coffee, tart hops balance, light fruity ale yeast esters. Light-medium body, mouthfeel was somehow thin and "digestive" but creamy and chewy at the same time. Smooth, bittersweet aftertaste which eventually finishes dry from the roasted barley. Very tasty, tangy balance. Another winner from Urban Chestnut.
