COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our twist on a classic Pilsner, this single hop variety showcases Aramis hops from the Alsace region of France. You may notice a straw-like aroma with a bready, clean finish.

seymour (1384) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - MAY 12, 2014
On tap in a Willybecher glass at the Grove brewery biergarten. It poured a clear golden colour with weak white foam. An interesting classic German Pilsener/single-hop IPA hybrid: grassy, grainy, crisp clean lager fermentation, but larger-than-life hoppy flavours and perfumey aromas. Reminiscent of herbal tea, mild black pepper and clove spice, weedy and little musky in a cool way, oddly citrusy, earthy, woodsy, but unlike high-alpha US hop varieties. Light body, strong carbonation, lingering hoppy finish. Another delicious French Alsace-grown hop, another masterfully-crafted Urban Chestnut beer.

phaleslu (6204) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2014
Draft at the Grove brewery. Just called "Aramis" on the menu. Pours a completely clear bright gold on the paler side of the spectrum with a small bone white head. Notes of straw, lemon and mandarin citrus, grass, bread, faint spice, herbs, crackers, and some fresh farmhouse-style funk. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a clean mouthfeel. Refreshing and nice. Didn’t quite stand up to the Stammtisch I had next to it, but still very nice.

(tap at tasting room) cloudy gold with white head. Aroma is citrus, resin. Flavor is citrus, some pineapple and passion fruit, Kind of a lager version of a session IPA.

wxman (1386) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - APR 11, 2014
On tap at the source. Pours a very pale slightly hazy yellow with a thin white small bead head that laces the glass. Has a clean, but not overly crisp, pils taste which includes a bit of grassiness and a biscuity character. Similar to, but more bitter than the Stammtisch. Yeastiness noted as well. Very nice stuff.

Pint at Tony’s in Alton. This arrived golden and very hazy. A fluffy white head. Aromas of citrus hops. Citrus in the flavor, too. Rye spice, light malts, pepper, and a little lemon. This was interesting and I hope to have the other Hop Switch beers. A tasty Pilsener.

Sampled during CBC 2013. Golden pour with a small off-white head. Nice aroma, doughy pils malts, spicy hops, a touch of citrus. Even better flavor, doughy malts, crisp, citrus, light pepper, refreshing and delicious. One of the highlights of CBC.

NobleSquirrel (3437) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 3, 2013
Draft at Urban Chestnut. Pours a slightly hazed yellow with a creamy white head. Nose is great. Big and biscuity, peppery/spicy hops. Clean with faint citrus that works great with the malt. On tasting, subtle pilsner sweetness, smooth medium bitternss and herbal spicy notes. More of that black pepper. Outstanding pilsner.
