Our twist on a classic Pilsner, this single hop variety showcases Aramis hops from the Alsace region of France. You may notice a straw-like aroma with a bready, clean finish.

Pour on tap at Twenty Tap, hazy golden pour with lacing white head, aroma brought notes of cracker, biscuit, bread, creamy malty notes into some slight spice, floral notes. Taste is creamy malt, young mash, some cracker, biscuit, bread, finishing fairly dry, spicy, crackery. Nice.

Draft to pint at Twenty Tap. Looks good; a slightly hazy gold with white head. Smells of a nice balance of pilsner malt, lager yeast, and mild hops. Tastes like it smells with a mild but pleasant pilsner snappiness. Some biscuit. A good example of the style.

On tap in a Willybecher glass at the Grove brewery biergarten. It poured a clear golden colour with weak white foam. An interesting classic German Pilsener/single-hop IPA hybrid: grassy, grainy, crisp clean lager fermentation, but larger-than-life hoppy flavours and perfumey aromas. Reminiscent of herbal tea, mild black pepper and clove spice, weedy and little musky in a cool way, oddly citrusy, earthy, woodsy, but unlike high-alpha US hop varieties. Light body, strong carbonation, lingering hoppy finish. Another delicious French Alsace-grown hop, another masterfully-crafted Urban Chestnut beer.

Draft at the Grove brewery. Just called "Aramis" on the menu. Pours a completely clear bright gold on the paler side of the spectrum with a small bone white head. Notes of straw, lemon and mandarin citrus, grass, bread, faint spice, herbs, crackers, and some fresh farmhouse-style funk. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a clean mouthfeel. Refreshing and nice. Didn’t quite stand up to the Stammtisch I had next to it, but still very nice.

On tap at the source. Pours a very pale slightly hazy yellow with a thin white small bead head that laces the glass. Has a clean, but not overly crisp, pils taste which includes a bit of grassiness and a biscuity character. Similar to, but more bitter than the Stammtisch. Yeastiness noted as well. Very nice stuff.
