A beer we are describing as a ‘Bavarian IPA’. Brewed and dry-hopped with a variety of Hallertau ‘hopfen’… instead of the usual and more citric hop varieties of most American IPA’s… gives this beer a decidedly German twist ABV- 6.2%, IBU’s- 55, OG – 14.5 Plato

On tap. Golden color, white head. Aroma of grass, hay, herbs, spices, some citral notes. Taste is quite the same, with hints of malt. Medium body, medium/high bitterness, medium carbonation.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Taste citrus, spice, sweet. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Goblet at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with white head. Really cool concept of using massive amounts of German hops in an otherwise American style beer. It works great here. The aroma is very potent with strong evergreen and grass. Not much citrus, but plenty of hop complexity. Good dry finish with lingering hop bite. The malts are immaculate. Excellent IPA and a good change of pace.

Bottle. Straw gold pour, white head, good retention/lace. Aroma of grassy/citrus hop, catty, green apple, cracker. Taste is moderately bitter, grassy, herbal, cracker. Palate is soft, oily, bitter finish.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large head that fades to ample lacing. Aroma is fairly mild with some malt sweetness, fresh grain, bit of fruit and a trace of spice. Taste is a nice blend of some caramel sweetness, fruit and fresh grain. Has a nice easy bitterness and a dry finish. Fairly medium body, nice crispness and smooth. Very well crafted. This is a unique IPA that is well worth checking out.

Tap at the brewery, pours a clear amber orange with a thin head, the aroma has a good amount of citrus mixed in but it has a lot of yeast notes as well, the flavor is smooth with a good amount of hops and citrus with a little bit of the yeast in the finish, kind of interesting but nothing mind blowing.

Had on draft at brewery. Pours a cloudy light golden with two fingers of white head and good lacing. Grassy and floral aroma with some malt sweetness and a hint of spiciness. Some herbal and grassy flavor in taste with a biscuit malt backbone and a touch of sweetness. Some citrus and spicy flavors with a moderate bitterness. Mouthfeel was smooth and crisp with a medium/full body and moderate carbonation. Really nice blend of hop flavors that was a bit unique for an IPA and more balanced.

Tasted on tap at the brewery into a snifter glass. I had been wanting to try this one for awhile, after reading about it in the For The Love Hops book. It was as good as everyone says, as good as I’d hoped, which seldom happens. It poured a clear light orangish golden amber with thin but persistent white head of spritzy little bubbles and some lace. Profoundly strong perfumey noble hop aromas: earthy, flowery, black pepper notes. Bavarian IPA is right! None of the more common citrusy (and grapefruity in particular) notes. Nice maltbill underneath too: crisp grainy, sweet malts and mildly caramelly. Light-medium body, above average carbonation, well-concealed alcohol, lingering aftertaste of apricots, and a last big wash of earthy hops before eventually finishing dry. Well-crafted, tasty, and different enough that I can see why it was written about in a major international release.

Sample pour consumed at the source... Pours a pale, mostly transparent apple cider hue and topped with a white fluffy head... Aroma reminds me of that of a lager almost, soft grass with very light degree of floralness that actually comes through more in the flavor. Pale grain, grass, clean with a Bavarian yeast bent. Medium bodied with adequate carbonation.

Pours dark gold. Aroma is odd. Very vegetal and spicy pepper. But the taste makes up for it. Good clean palate feel, cereal and spicy hops. Finishes dry and with faint pine and strong spicy notes. Good drinkable IPA. Certainly different than anything out there So it's a good one to try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
