COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A beer we are describing as a ‘Bavarian IPA’. Brewed and dry-hopped with a variety of Hallertau ‘hopfen’… instead of the usual and more citric hop varieties of most American IPA’s… gives this beer a decidedly German twist ABV- 6.2%, IBU’s- 55, OG – 14.5 Plato

On tap @ Urban Chestnut. Hazed golden pour with a white head. Lemon, orange peel, and lots of fresh flowers. A good bready malt base. Flavor has a lot of bread and cracker malt. Lots of orange peel, hints of lemon, and some pine. A strong floral character, which is quite nice.

Tap sample. Poured hazy amber color with an average frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy floral hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate bittersweet flavor with a moderate bittersweet finish of medium duration. Very good brew.

Draft… RBSG 2014… Cloudy peach-colored pour with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a collage of herbal, earthy and rooty notes - odd for an IPA. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor is an assortment of bready, biscuity and spicy notes. Very well-balanced. Trends bitter, but only by a hair. Crisp, spicy, herbal finish.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a slightly cloudy straw with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of sweet wheat, earthiness and light spice. Flavor has earthy wheat with some sweetness and a bit of light spice underlying.

Draft served in a huge snifter at UCBC. Pours a semi-cloudy orange-gold color with a massive, foamy eggshell white head that leaves some lacing in the glass. Aroma of citrus right away- no matter what the description says- followed by herbal, earthy hops, pineapple, cereal grains, and Munich malts. Flavor of citrusy, bitter hops, pine, grains, and grapefruit peel. Light-medium bodied, with sharp carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Super fresh quality to it, with fairly mild bitterness. Cool take on an IPA, and this seems to be one of their most popular beers with local beer geeks so far.
