(bottle) Hazy, yellow colour with a big and blond, also quite persistent foamy head. Yeasty, moderately wheat-malty aroma with a distinctive lactic touch, accompanied by notes of citrus and lemon peel. Moderately sour flavour, light bodied with a modest carbonation. Dry and citrus-fruity, moderately wheaty taste with lactic and funky yeasty notes; moderately sour and mildly tart and fruity finish. Refreshing. 06.V.15

At a tasting, thanks, medium stable bubbly head, quite hazy yellow color, white wine aroma with some mineral notes, flavor of white wine, lemon and some fruitiness, spritzy sensation, strong but really mellow sourness, very nicely balanced. great fun to drink to drink, especially in the middle of the heat wave we are experiencing..

Euro2-Flasche:Pale golden, hazy, small persistent off-white head; sourish citrussy nose with a slight woody-tart touch, some lactic acidity surely detectable; moderate dryish sour flavour with a pretty mild residual sweetness; light bodied as expected, soft MF; lemony and lactic sourish finish. Well drinkable thirst-quencher…

Draft on tap at Kaiser Tiger (Chicago, I). Finally excited to score this one. Poura a hazy straw yellow hue with just hints of hazy gold on the bottom and edges glowing. Firm haze, frothy whitish head atop is firm, sticks around and laces well enough. A looser filmy layer, decent ringer laces ok overall. Aromas are a bit lemony and dry, twangy lactic is a faint bit metallic, yogurty and tart. A grainy element comes back, dry bready malts, straw, tartness ebb and flow. Initial is tart, on point lemony goodness. Firm but not overwhelming lactic acidity has a voice.. Citrus, yogfurt, some earthy elements and twang. Bready and dry straw malts taper behind, showing firm acidity from front to back that is tantalizing and flowing. Lemony life goes well with some acidic jabs, faint green apple and taryt grape. A touch of body but largely this one is a lemony lactic life, potent but not overwhelming, this summery Berliner isn’t just an acid bomb. A touch of body, some graininess without letting up and losing that lemony focus. Finish is dry, twangy and tart/sour. A nice one with good flow, potency and a touch of body to keep it honest. Tasty. Mellow nose but a lovely flavor and flow here, a top shelf base Berliner I think.

On tap at Grove location. Aroma: Light pils-type grain with also very light wheat; not much in terms of wheat tartness; Lemon is subtle. A lighter nose all around. Appearance: Fairly still yellow pour with a foamy white head that fades into a patchy ring. Flavor: Moderately tart and lemony throughout; simple; the finish is more abrupt and dried out. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, very soft carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: I probably liked this more than my score would suggest; more than anything, I would’ve liked a bit more from the nose, and maybe a little lighter body.

Leicht trübe hell goldgelbe Farbe, große weiße Schaumkrone. Geruch dezent säuerlich, weißes Kraut, würzig, leicht hopfig. Geschmack leicht säuerlich malzig, Kraut, würzig, gering salzig, viel Kohlensäure, gut!
