COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Weizenbock is comparable to the barley-based regular Bockbier, but is actually a stronger version of an unfiltered Weissbier. We use approximately 55% wheat malt (German law requires a Weizenbier, regardless of strength, be made from at least 50% wheat). The other 45% of malts are a combination of Munich, Pils, and Caramel. All of which when combined give our "Maifest special" a full-bodied and a rich, satisfying malty finish. Point of fact: while regular Bockbiers are lagers, Weizenbocks are ales. OG - 16.0 Plato.

Tasted at the Grove Taproom. It poured a light brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of bananas, some nuts and toasted malts. The taste was similar to the aroma with toasted malts, bananas, caramel and brown sugar. Very nice.

Tap at the brewery, pours a clear dark brown with a red hue and an off white head, the aroma has touches of both banana and yeast with some spices mixed in, the flavor is of heavy sweet malt and caramel on the front end with some banana and fruit in the finish, nice smooth mouthfeel, good stuff.

I had this at Global Brew. It pours a brownish red with a decent head. The taste is lighter than I expected. Pretty good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Urban Chestnut. Pours a deep mahogany. Nutty with some toast and roast on the nose, cocoa. Quite clean. Yeast is subdued, low banana and clove. On tasting, nice and dry, not overly sweet. Clean and very nice, if not too complex. More cocoa and nutty notes as well. Solid.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a hazy chestnut brown with a finger-thick off-white head. Aroma of wheat, bananas, nuts, toasted malts, brown sugar, and light root beer. Flavor of banana, caramel and toasted malts, brown sugar, tea, nuts, and lemon. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, toasty mouthfeel that coats the palate. Really solid weizenbock and absolutely hit the spot in the middle of my ride home yesterday.
