Lemon-Lime Lager - "In the time of chimpanzees I was a monkey..." Wha, wha, wha, what?!!! Well itís like this. If youíre familiar with the Singer/Songwriter íBeckí, you might recall his breakthrough single íLoserí aka íPerdedorí. A finger-in-your-face song essentially stating, "I might be a loser cuz Iím less than a man, so what are you going to do about it...kill me?! Well thatís kinda like our Lemon-Lime Lager - "I might be a perdedor cuz Iím less than a traditional beer, so what are you going to do about it...spill me?!" "Got a couple of couches sleep on the love seat..." OG 11.2 Plato (Pilsner)

Bottle - small foamy head, hazy pale yellow color, definite lemon and lime aroma and flavor, kind of "shandy" like, ok overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at UCBCís Grove location, served in a glass with a tall body and short stem. Pours a hazy pale gold with a finger of white head that settles into a lasting ring. I wasnít initially impressed. It has their sort of house character with big pale malts and some bready yeasty notes and not much else; donít get me wrong, I like the house character, but there wasnít anything else. Then when I went back to it a few minutes later, I was greeted with the rest - lemon and lime citrus, to be sure, with grass, hay, coriander, mint, and clean fresh grains. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a dry, fruity, herbal mouthfeel. The malts really settle into the background while the fresh fruitiness and herbs take over. If you get the mixed pack, this is the clear standout. Iím glad I found it on tap instead of having to plop $19 for two each of three beers I donít want along with this one.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is kind of lemon-lime dishwashing liquid. Flavor is more of the lemon and lime with a super tart finish. More the lime than lemon and a whole lot watery after that. Itís ok for what it is and Iíll admit these type beers are not my thing. Itís more interesting than a Bud Light lime and if shandyís are your thing give it a try.

Pours a hazy yellow with a respectable white head. Aroma is citrus and grain. Taste is sweet pale malt, bread dough and mild citrus freshness. Good summer slammer.

Tap at the brewpub June 2012-pours lightly hazy orange with a small soapy white head, nose is lemon lime kafir leaf, like a huge fresh glass of lemon/limeaid. wow, this is wack-lots of lemon lime sprite qualities with a ton of dry spicy hops. very nice session lager for a hot STL day (or any hot place for that matter). refreshing and something unique that i figured would suck, but didnt.

I expected this to be down the lines of a Radler, I was wrong in that assumption. Pours from 1 liter grower a hazy golden with a white head. The aroma has smooth pale malt, lager roundedness, mild toast, crusty bread and hints of citrus. Medium / light smooth body thatís fairly rich and smooth with mild carbonation. The flavor starts with a citric sharpness along with light mildly toasted malt. The citrus is more pronounced on the taste than the aroma and cuts down on the lager smoothness. The finish shows a big lime flavor and its quite complimentary to the lager so that both are apparent, but there isnít a huge citrus bit or super-smooth lager character. Really nice summer beer.
