5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Wow. I am so happy that this IIPA has found its way into my life. I feel like I have been on a quest for the ultimate IPA for many years. 90-minute Dogfish Head, Stone Ruination, etc. Great beers indeed.
I’m not saying this beer is better, I’m just saying its in the same league...and in the league you’re just splitting hairs anyway.
Proud to say that this gem of a beer is brewed right here in St Louis. Thing I’ll go pour another.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Great IIPA. Resinous, apricot, grapefruit, good malt back bone as balanced as an IIPA can be. Dangerously drinkable on a hot day, warming on a cool day.

A beautiful beer in the sunlight to enjoy on UCBC’s patio. I’d give it 3 thumbs up if I had another hand.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from a Schnucks. Deep orange amber colored brew with a dense light khaki head. Massive citrus nose with some notes of toast and peanuts. There is also a perfumed note with bits of almonds. The dominant flavor is up front citrus rinds. This has a nutty finish with hints of orange sweetness. The body is a little chewy, but any alcohol is really only detected in the aftertaste. Well balanced, yet in your face with the big boy hops. This one is a winner.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
I had this at Global Brew. Pours orangish with a white head. Taste citrus, sweet, hoppy. I thought this was very good. I would definitely drink this again.

Floral, grass, hay aroma. Nice hop level with some malt. This is an excellent ipa from UC.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is of delicate hops. Color is a hazy golden amber. Head is ample with good lacing. Taste is a smooth malty sweet well balanced by the hops. The finish is clean with a slight orange aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The full-bodied complexity of this IPA is what makes it shine; however, I’ve noticed that the integrity of this beer erodes quickly. I experienced marked differences between the beer when purchased and consumed very soon after bottling, versus a month later, in that the fruity hop flavors were less pronounced and the bitterness took the forefront of the hop presence. If you can get STLIPA fresh, expect very forward citrus flavors (Cascade & Centennial?) which coat the mouth, and just the right level of bitterness and carbonation. At its peak, a beautiful beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours hazy amber/orange with a soapy large off-white head. The aroma has lots of citrus that heavy on the grapefruit. There’s also hops traits of tropical fruits, light funk, orange rind and some green onion along with some toasty malt. It’s hop heavy, but gentle. Medium body that has a bit of a rough grainy feel with moderate carbonation. The flavor starts with grapefruit, earth, pine, spicy and a lot less funk than the aroma. The malt is there and is still toasty, but takes a back seat to the hops. The finish is dry and resiny with lots of pine, the other traits and a bit of green onion shows through. This is a winner of an IIPA for me.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle. hazed light orange body with a fine white head and lasting lacing. layered hop nose of mango, passion fruit, mandarin orange and gelatin candies, all well-integrated by the inclusion of yeast. supple and soft body with creamy and low carbonation. silky and velvety texture with a zingy, spicy, gelatinous fuit bitterness and acidity in the finish. a surprisingly well-executed IPA, bringing back memories of Pliny years ago.
