COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Every year since 1947 there has been a Christmas tree lighting ceremony held in Trafalgar Square, the London memorial commemorating the decisive English naval victory of the same name. In honor of this yearís ceremony, which takes place on Thursday, December 1st, we are releasing a traditional English Pale Ale, Trafalgar - a briskly hopped (East Kent Goldings) lightly caramelly (from the Maris Otter winter barley), dry and crisp session ale. OG 13.0 (Imperial Nonic)

Draft at the brewpub, served in an imperial pint glass. Pours a cloudy orange color with a finger of eggshell white head that settles into an uneven film and light trailing lace. Aroma of sweet malts, orange citrus, grass, and dry cereal grains. Flavor of sweet tangerine citrus, sweet and caramel malts, apricot, grass, and cereal. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a smooth, juicy mouthfeel. I liked this way better than most EPAs with East Kent Goldings. Really nice job on this one.

Pours amber/orange with an off-white sudsy head. The aroma has fruitiness (especially nectar fruit), toasted malt on the dry side, spiciness and some earthy qualities. Medium crisp body with semi-soft frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with toasty malt, spicy hops, nectar fruits and a bit of a dryness to it. The finish adds some grassy and earthy hop character. Decent English pale.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes a golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, and pine. Taste is malt, oranges, caramel, grain, and grass. Very easy to drink.

NobleSquirrel (3437) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 2, 2013
Draft at Urban Chestnut. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a reddish tinge and sticky white head. Nose is toasty malt and a grassy hops, light fruity notes. On tasting, orange blossom and fresh cut grass, toasty malts. Drying finish, medium bodied. Quite refreshing albeit a touch boring in terms of hops. Very well made.

Pour is a clear copper with a small whtie head. Aroma is deffinatly all malt. Very Maris Ottery. Flavor is a toffee and caramel malt forward beer. Finish is clean and earthy. Not a style thatís going to wow anyone but it was true to the style and very drinkable.

On tap at Urban Chestnut on Jan 11th. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Bitter, hoppy flavors. Alright english pale ale, but Iím not a big fan of the style.

Tasted on tap at the brewery tasting room in a nonic pint glass. It poured a hazy amber/copper color with persistent white foam and sticky lace. Aromas of earthy and citrusy English hops, husky grain, rising bread dough, freshly baked whole-grain bread, mild but pleasing and historically-accurate. Delicious, true-to-style flavors, too: sweet malts, biscuits, crackers, toasted nuts, light caramel, fruity ale yeast, apricots, orange rind and zest. Light-medium carbonation, light-medium body, lingering fruity and bittersweet aftertaste. Tasty, easy-drinking, and well-balanced English ale, I would love to drink several at a sitting. Highly recommended.

Tap at brewpub. Pour is light brown with a thin white head. Aroma is light floral hop, faint cookie malt, and a light citrus component. Flavor is also lightly hopped with hints of citrus and a faint, lightly sweet malt. Seems like one could drink lots of these.
