COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Revolution Series #1: We are affectionately referring to the first beer in our Revolution series of modern, American craft beer, as our unusual little bird. It’s a little on the flighty side @ 6.5% ABV, and it’s a little on the wacky side because we’ll brew it with finely milled chestnuts (genus castanea …for you nut freaks), Willamette hops, and we’ll ferment it with a Bavarian Weissbier yeast strain. All of these nuances contribute to its ‘nutty’ personality. ABV- 6.5%, IBU’s- 25, OG – 14.5 Plato (UCBC Goblet)

bartlebier (2479) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2014
50cl bierpost bb12/2014. Soggy biscuit beer, fresh foam. Beguilingly delicate "amber" Dunkelweizen nose: older banana, wheat porridge, honeypops, indeed maroni. Taste is a mellow continuation of that with a lovingly dosed hop spice. Very drinkable composition, a full bulky bottle is not a challenge as with some Dunkelweizens.

(bottle, 5.4% abv) Hazy, amber colour with a medium-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Yeasty, present wheaty aroma with notes of cara-malt, a whiff of nuts and a fruity touch of banana. Moderately sweet and delicately sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Wheaty and mildly cara-malty taste with nutty spots and fruity notes of banana; mildly sweet and delicately acidic wheaty and fruity finish with notes of banana and caramel in the aftertaste. Solid. 29.IX.14

500ml bottle. Aroma is light algae. Apperance is light cloudy orange with a bivhe brown-ish head. Taste is sour and light sweet. A medium carbonation. Well ... Not my style.

Aroma has a bit of a metallic smell to it. Head is ok, with color a light orange. Taste is different, but good. Dough with a bit of banana.

Appearance is clear deep golden to amber with a thick white foam cap. Aroma is toasty and nutty, with a spicy clove yeast note. Taste is light toasted malt but definitely leans toward the spicy phenols. Nutty flavor is there, but restrained. Mouthfeel is fairly light, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes with a light nutty malt character on the tongue.

Bleh. Alcohol taste dominates. Other than that it isn’t a good brew either. Kind of nutty but more sweet/tart. Just "bleh" literally all around. No clear flavors.

Bottle... Clear dirty-orange ale with amber highlights and a small, brief, creamy, white head. The yeast-driven nose is spicy and lightly phenolic accompanied by a suggestion of chestnuts. Light to medium-bodied with nearly-expired carbonation. Tangy, nutty flavor, followed by a minerally, tangy finale. Bottle courtesy of my wife, Tinkerbell. Thanks for hauling this brew back home from St. Louis!
