Revolution Series #1: We are affectionately referring to the first beer in our Revolution series of modern, American craft beer, as our unusual little bird. It’s a little on the flighty side @ 6.5% ABV, and it’s a little on the wacky side because we’ll brew it with finely milled chestnuts (genus castanea …for you nut freaks), Willamette hops, and we’ll ferment it with a Bavarian Weissbier yeast strain. All of these nuances contribute to its ‘nutty’ personality. ABV- 6.5%, IBU’s- 25, OG – 14.5 Plato (UCBC Goblet)

Bottle from Strykezone. Odd aroma can’t put my finger on it. Must be the chestnuts. Nice amber hue with a moderate head. Some what tart after taste but not in a bad way. Don’t pick up much of the nut flavor. Very drinkably smooth.

500ml bottle (random place). Hazy amber color. Small size, white head, stays. Apples, sour, yeasty, metallic in aroma. Metallic, apples, sticks, yeasty, sweet in taste. Metallic and harsh herbal bitterness in aftertaste. Some copper too. Harsh to drink. I think no.

Getrunken vom Hahn im Strongbows Kiel 0,3l/4,50 Euro. Optisch sehr ansprechend. Der Antrunk erfrischend, dezent nussig & hoppy. Schlanker Körper. Der Nachtrunk dann schon trocken und dank der Willamette Hops schön würzig. Lecker und dezent andersartig.

Bottle. Pours amber in colour, white head. In taste and aroma it is a typical dunkelweizen. I did not found any sight of milled chestnuts. Solid dunkelweizen.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass in St.Louis, Missouri. The appearance is a light amber with a medium sized white head. The aroma is full of malt, bread , pepper and caramel toffee. The flavor is a a fairly sweet malt flavor with a toasted finish. Overall, an exceptional beer.

Aromat słodki, dominują banany, a w tle muśnięcie orzechów i/lub kasztanów. smaku pełne, ponownie banany i nuty karmelowe, kasztany pojawiają się wyraźniej niż w zapachu. Finisz to lekko zarysowana goryczka.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Brolters, Bremen, out of the fridge. Clear copper, strange looking in a Weizen glass, two finger white head. Nearly like a Weizen on the nose, clove, banana, yeast. Taste starts more dry malty, chestnut, banana and clove in the second row, nuts, little bit citrus, but not really fruity. Roasted grainy aftertaste. Maybe a grower, if you drink one or two more.

Cask. Amber body with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, toasted grain, bread, nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, moderate to lively carbonation. Some husky grain and homebrew "twang" in the finish.

Aroma of a bready Belgian ale. Tastes bready with an earthiness that could be the chestnuts? Highly carbonated. Not bad, but not exactly good.
