3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Boutip (3971) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 31, 2012
Bottle: Poured a light yellow color cider with strong carbonation. Aroma consists of fresh medium sweet apple with some light oak notes. Taste is also dominated by medium sweet apple juice notes with light oak notes and bourbon notes are even more subtle. Interesting and makes me want to try other cider form those guys.

Pours a very pale clear pale yellow with a quickly dissipating thi white head. Aroma has slightly tart apple and bourbon...touch of vanilla. Flavor had a bit of barnyard funk and tart apple before mild bourbon, oak, and vanilla creep in. Mouthfeel is light and the finish has tart apple with a hint of bourbon and dry oakiness.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 pantanap (3153) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2012
33cl bottle purchased at the source, freshly labeled... Pours a pale, mostly clear, straw yellow hue and topped with a thin soapy white head... Vanilla and bourbon pretty abundant in the aroma with a soft cussed base which is fairly subtle compared to the amount of bourbon imparted the cider by the barrel... Flavors are more of the same with a firm bourbon presence that overwhelms the semi-dry and lightly crisp cider base. Lighter bodied with a light airy tartness and semi-lively carbonation. A little too over-barreled for its own good.

Bottle at Paul’s. Whew... smells like veggie farts! Sulfur, like rotten eggs, and Paul’s ass. We had to debate whether we were smelling the cider or Paul’s ass from 15 minutes before, but since none of the beers smelled like this before or after and it wasn’t in the taste, I guess this one smells like a fart. Flavor is much nicer of apple liqueur and sweet booze. More sugar in the finish. Smell something else and then drink this.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 j12601 (5609) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Bottle at a tasting at Paul’s. Pours a very lightly hazed gold with no head. According to Andy, this smells like farts. I am inclined to agree with him as this cider does have a rather sulfuric and highly farty smell, along with a bit of apples. Medium bodied, sweet and with some light acid. Light acid, more caramelized apples, a bit of apple sugar. Easy drinking, but it’s hard to get past the sulfuric aromas on the nose.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jtclockwork (5092) - , New Jersey, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Bottle at Paul’s. Pours straw yellow. Nose/taste of fresh apple, white sugar and oak. Some booze in the finish. Thin body seems a bit watered down.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lukaduke (1005) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUN 7, 2012
Pours a pale straw color with slight bubble... Aromas are tart sweet apple a touch of oak and earthy yeast. Flavors follow the nose quite nicely with crisp apple, tangy oak and a touch of earthy booze notes. The only drawback is this cider seems a tad watered down, maybe due to the lack of bubbles.

750mL Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Amy. Aroma has a nice crackle of fresh apples and the oaken booze. Flavors have a real farmhouse sensation to me, without getting too wild. Oak, apples, earth, citric acid, and some hay. Unfortunately, the palate completely falls apart in the finish, lacking the necessary turn or bite to prevent it from just evaporating into nothing needs. With a little more sweetness, acid complexity, or tannin, this could be quite a cider.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 porterhouse (1581) - Boothbay Harbor, Maine, USA - AUG 30, 2011
(750 ml bottle, batch 2, date 6/21 from Rising Tide) Pours hazy pale yellow with a bit of fizzy white head that is quickly gone. Light champagne bubbliness. Aroma of sweet and sour apple. Mouthfeel is smooth, perhaps aided by the barrel-aging. Also a little husky, a little dry. Light champagne-like carbonation. Flavor of sweet and sour-tart apple, faint yeast. Unfiltered earthy feel. Nice.

Draft at The Lion’s Pride. Labeled "Culture Cider". Hard to find on here because of that, and I think this must be the one out of the UFF listings. Pours a cloudy pale yellow-gold with a white ring for a head. Aroma of tons of herbs, apple skins, white grapes, cedar, and farmhouse funk. Flavor of tart green apples, herbs, white grapes, and musty funk. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a tart, funky, rustic, dry mouthfeel. So interesting and complex. Never had a cider like this before. Will be eagerly seeking out more UFF stuff.
