First one I have had out of urban legend brewing. A reay tasty and easy to drink porter. Slightly smokey and chocolately. Had this one at home.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle served in snifter: Pours a deep brown with a fading head, minimal lace. Plenty of tasty roast, walnut, and a touch of dark fruits along with some herbal bitterness. The rye is very subdued except for the finish. Mouth feel is a tad thin and ashy. It is a drinkable beer.

Draft. A bit on the lighter side body wise for a porter, but it isn’t na imperial, pretty dry with lots of malt flavors.

Bomber to glass. Aroma has a lot of smoke and rye. Taste has a a lot of campfire. At least more body than most smoked porters. Ok but not much else going on.

Sampled at the taproom. Pours a rich dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, rye, touches of dark bread. There are notes of dark malt, some cereal notes, toast, and roasted malt. Flavor is rich, dry, focused on rich roasted malt and rye flavors. Lots of chocolate malt, with some cherry, caramel, and bread notes. Moderate hop bitterness is an afterthought. Creamy bodied, above average carbonation. Nice.

Bubbly and not bitter. Modest chocolate notes and an overall pleasing, if unpronounced flavor. Higher carbonation.

10 oz. tulip, $5.50 at Tap House. Opaque brown, with a thin brown layer of foam. Heady smell with definite alcohol. Taste has big coffee and cocoa notes. A bit of sour cherry around the edges. Keeps a nice hop bite throughout the glass, and there’s a bit of roast malt that grows on me as well.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery, and dispensed to a nonic 10 oz. tumbler with a black/brown hue, creamy, brownish tan head froth, and waves & spots to the clingy lacing. The aroma was an inviting nose of roastiness, malt creaminess, chocolate, and hints of caramel & toffee. Medium- bodied, softer carbonation, moderately bitter, with some finishing dryness. The character waned as the tasting continued, softened & thinned a bit, but was still nicely quaffable.
