50cl Bottle via bierkoning, thanks Edo! Dark brown colour with a red hue, off-white head. Aroma of dusty cocoa, roasted malts, nuts. Flavour is roasted malts, burnt caramel, cocoa, light chocolate, light nutty, light bitter finish. Light-bodied.

Trinkbares, recht dunkelfruchtiges Piwo mit einer milden Malznote und annehmbarer Süffigkeit. Im Grunde eins wie viele andere auch, aber dabei durchaus zufriedenstellend.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep brown colour with steady head and medium body. Aroma of bread and wheat. Taste of dark grains, bread, malt, straw, plums and raisins. Easy to drink yet nothing special.

It’s dark brown with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of caramel, roasted malt and light nuts. The flavor has a light to moderate sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, and a little nuts and milk chocolate towards the slightly dry finish!

Pours an orangish brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma is toasted malt, caramel. The taste is Caramel, bread with a slightly dry and fruity finish. The body is light/medium with active yet smooth carbonation. Overall a very nice dunkel.

500ml bottle. Clear brown colour with average, frothy, minimally lacing, tan head. Minimally sweet, slightly grainy, dark malty aroma with a touch of hay. Taste is dark malty, minimally grassy hop overtones, very subtle sweetness. A bit watery. fizzy carbonation.

Hmmmm...finally discovered an average German dunkel. Not much in the flavor department, barely any hints of the nuttiness or roast grains this style is usually noted for. Falls flat on the tongue ...almost watery. After enjoying their Festmarzen so much, this one was a little disappointing. With so many good examples of this style, this one leaves a lot to be desired.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Caramel in the vegetable-like aroma. malty caramelly sweetish flavor. Not an entirely clean mouthfeel. Bready.

500 ml bottle at home in Germany. Pours a nice chestnut brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is spicy bread, malt and caramel. Taste is sour roasted nuts and malt. Lots of carb action in this one and let it warm a bit before drinking. Palate is nice mellow and very fine. A jewel this one is.
