2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle bought at Great Food hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty during the store’s Oktoberfest promotion.
Cloudy, hazy dull golden yellow colour with substantial dirt-like yeast sediments; Explosive four-finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for about 2 minutes; Small sticky lacing and fizzy carbonation; Strong and sweet aroma of banana, vanilla, malt, Champagne yeast, sugar, cloves, and spices; Slightly tart and light sweet taste of light malt, with banana, strong yeast, cloves, spices, light wet cardboard, lemon and very light grass; Mid to light body, slightly thick and quite crisp palate; Mouth feel is yeast-dominated, light malt weiss base with banana, strong cloves, some phenolic character and lemon. Body is kinda right consider the yeasty presence; Hoppiness is lemon and some herbal nose, lemony and faint herb taste, Almost no astringency, more a wheaty and slightly tart finish; Slightly dry after taste, very easy and crispy to mouth.
Comments: The gimmick here is Champagne yeast, which bring some really nice yeasty nose, yet other aroma and taste elements, like banana and cloves, are rather average. If you crave champagne yeast and taste than this is for you. Otherwise, being gimmicky is not enough to be a good weiss. Barely decent.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
It’s unclear golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of sour yeast, light sewer, light fruit and what. The sweet flavor has notes of somewhat sour yeast, fruit and wheat. The finish is slightly sour and yeast. Not too fond of the sourness.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a nice cloudy orange in appearance with a large head. Aroma slightly citrus. Cloves and citrus taste a little different from your run of the mill hefe weizens.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
500 ml bottle. Pours stringy cloudy amber with masses floating around. It says this beer is made with ’Sekthefe’ (=sparkling wine yeast) and it really has a bit of a sparkling wine aroma, with strong notes of fruits and honey. Sweet and sour fruity honey taste with vanilla notes. Sparkly sour-sweet honey palate.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Medium white head. Very strange cloudy, misty consistence with black particles floating around. Definitely no eye-candy. Idiosyncratic yeasty champagne aroma with strong notes of vanilla. Pleasantly fruity taste and a likewise fruity palate with, again, hints of vanilla. Good one.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle 50cl. In the nose a winey smell, mixed with typical Weizenbier aroma. Quite thin in the mouth, winey character disappears.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Quite an interesting attempt at a hefeweizen - the champagne yeast are clearly discernable in this one. Aroma is malt and yeast, some cloves and pears, plus white wine. Fruity, partly vinous flavour, taste is light tart, lighter sweetish. A bit too watery unfortunately, could be more flavourful. Still definitely good and interesting.
