Bottle: Dark brown color, beige head. Sweet malt aroma, some notes of candies, caramel hints of roasted malt. Flavor is malty, light to medium sweet, pleasant roasty. Intensive roasted malt bitterness in the end. Nice.

Bottled. Darkish brown, small and mostly fully diminishing head. Moderate malty and sugary sweet aroma, some dark buttery bread. Moderate body, malty and sugary sweet, some dark bread and roasted malt. Finish is short, malty and sugary sweet, lightly roasted. Well, if you like sweet lemonade and cherry cola this one is for you. Otherwise, stay away.

Bottle and pint. I had had an Urpiner once before and thought it was this one, I was surprised that this one didn’t taste like a sugar coated, wet paper bag like that last one so it must’ve been something else from the same brewery. Anyway, this is a pretty good beer with some sweetness to it.

Aroma is a mix of barley, grains, and malts, in that order, and decently balanced. Has a nice dark amber colour. Taste of a good mix of roasted barley and malts. Pretty good for its style, and worth a try.

inbirraveritas (1509) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 16, 2010
0.33 l bottle from "Különleges Sörök Boltja", Budapest. Dark brown/ruby colour, the beige head upon is medium sized and remains creamy. Roasty, buttery nose, the taste is sweet, flavour’s of toffee/coffee, nice oily mouthfeel. The middle is of roasted and caramell malt with notes of bottom fermented yeast in the back. Finish is coffeebitter and dry, a sweet toffee-liked aftertaste remains. For me it was overall a nice and enjoyable one.

My bottle just said "Urpin" Dark beer. I think this is it. Dark pour. Caramel like texture. Pretty good for a Slovakian dark lager. Rated 3/18/04

courtesy of oh6gdx - clear dark brown colour with a fair creamy beige foam; toasted malty aroma with notes of cola and butter; the palate is fresh with a moderate carbonation and a decent malt backbone; aftertaste of toffee with long toasted malty notes

Pours reddish very dark brown with largish, beige head; aroma is sweet of toasted and buttery caramel; flavor is caramel sweet, slight to moderate roasty finishing burnt caramelish, even woody; light-medium body with moderate carbonation. Falls into the category of "a bit oversweet dunkels", but in that context it positions itself fairly well.

0.5 l bottle from K-Market Länsiväylä, Jyväskylä. Dark reddish brown color, foams over aggressively. Sweet aroma with dark bread, caramel, coffee, licorice and dark sugar. The flavor is very sweet with coffee, charcoal, licorice and dark bread. Slightly stale and soft drink like taste.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Mahogany colour, small head. Sugary caramel together with chocolate and saccharin. Very sweet with light-medum body and well rounded mouthfeel. Slight notes of grass and butterscotch. Way too sweet for me.
