Brewed in a new brewery in Uherce Mineralne (Bieszczady) in Poland, as a part of a much bigger Ursa Maior project (concert hall, tourist info, souvenir shop, brewery). The unique fact is that beer is made using mostly solar energy, which is a novelty in Poland.

Ursa z Poloniny is a beer of a beautiful amber hue, citric-spicy aroma is well combined with a delicate caramelly flavor. A short but well defined and accented bitterness provides the unusual character for the beer. An American Amber Ale produced from water, malt, hops and yeast.

Contains: water, Pale Ale malt, Munich malt, caramel malt, Carared malt and roasted malt, hops: Simcoe, Cascade, Palisade, Amarillo, yeast.

50 cl bottle. Pours amber with white, lacing head, unfortunately quickly diminishing. The main problem is DMS (the beer is totally dominated by canned corn aromas (I felt almost none of the hoppy notes). Good carbonation, light bitterness (and corny taste). I’ll try to edit the rating when I’ll get new batch in my hands (hopefully during next visit in Poland).

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium orange amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, caramel, dusty malt, wet hay, keller notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt bitter, sweet malt, dusty, keller notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20131123]

Clear amber colour with minimal head. Thin aroma of caramel, some citrus and lots of cooked vegetable. Not encourage to drink. Taste is sweet (caramel and honey) with low bitterness on the finish. Poor one.

Butelka 0.5L. Ciemnobursztynowomiedziane, klarowne z jasnokremową obfitą, zbitą pianą. Drożdże, słody, miód, lekkie utlenienie, owoce, karmel, przyprawy i nuty kwiatowe w aromacie. W smaku karmelowoprzyprawowe ze sporą popielistą goryczką na finiszu. Wysycenie średnie do wysokiego, gryzące. Ciało średnie. Ładnie wyglądające, całkiem przyjemniej nachmielone amber ale.

Bottle. It’s a clear, amber beer topped by a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has a little piney hoppyness, but caramel malts dominates. Hints of dried fruits. The flavor is equally boring, but at least with some bitterness. Toffee and pine cones. Dry on the palate, medium bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Toffee and bitterness in the end. Drinks easily this one, but rather boring and one-dimensional. 131123
