A very special flavor. Tastes as good as it smells. I need to find this beer in Texas.

heavy (2161) - Split, CROATIA - AUG 27, 2011
19/08 0.5 l bottle at Timisoreana brewery restaurant. It poured dark brown to black body with medium to big head. Coffee, some roasted caramel, slightly herbal hoppy in aroma. Flavor is coffee driven, orange, grass, fine caramel notes. Some good quality malt used here surprisingly, and it’s not thin at all, though it had shorter, fruity sweet finish. Interesting and much better than expected on the place. And it’s a schwarzbier, not dunkel.

Marko (4053) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 22, 2011
Bottle at the Timisoreana brewery restaurant. Poured a clear, extremely dark red, almost black. Off white head. Sweetish nose, raisins and plums. Slightly cardboardy taste driven by dark malts and raisins. Slightly too fruity for its own good. Baltic Porter? Good one. Ok, but I expected more...

Holy (833) - GERMANY - JUN 30, 2011
Bottle at a Rustic Pizza Restaurant an hour South of Cluj. I’m impressed with this beer! Full bodied, rich bitter (seemingly bitter) coco with an aftertaste that lingers. Very nice!

japi (112) - Kisvárda, HUNGARY - JUN 18, 2011
[Can] A red-brown beer with dense head. It has coffee in the aroma, a bit of dark chocolate in the palate and roasted malty bitterness in the finish.

omhper (19945) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 10, 2011
Draught at The Gin Factory, Bucharest. Near black, brief head. Roasty coffee aroma. Sweet with some syrup and caramel, above medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Syrup and coffee dominates. Fairly low bitterness. Akin to a roastier Dreher Bak.

kwik-lime (1373) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2011

Bottle. Told this is best beer in Romania but also see best before Sept 2010. Black beer. Brown head. Soft roast scent. Moderate roast flavour. Tasty enough. Tastes more brown than black. Still nice soft roast flavour. Thanks to Glouglouburp.
