Can. A dark red-brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel, bread, and roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of bread, metallic hops, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at The Gin Factory, Bucharest. Near black, brief head. Roasty coffee aroma. Sweet with some syrup and caramel, above medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Syrup and coffee dominates. Fairly low bitterness. Akin to a roastier Dreher Bak.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark brown with a thin head. Malt-forward aroma is clean molasses and caramel. Rich caramel, more like a Baltic porter than anything else, but not quite that either. Finishes sweet with earthy liquorice notes. The only serious go-to beer in Romania.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottled (BB 03/2009)
Very dark ruby color, mostly vanishing tan head. Brown sugar aroma. Fizzy carbonation. Suprisingly not really sweet .. there is some molasses, but mainly flavor is dry, cardboardish and slightly licoricey. Good for being Romanian beer, but I like Silva Dark more.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2012 clear brown, smooth light brown head.
mild malty aroma, dry. flavor is pretty messy mix of bitter malts, bitter caramel, plastic and a slightly tart sour note.
also tried a bottle and that one was a lot clearer in the flavor. no plastic, no tart sour note, but perhaps a roastiness that could be interpreted as almost sourish/tartish. flavor 4->6, overall 8->13
