Draught at at Berăria Ursus, Cluj, Romania, March 2013. Pours pale golden with white head. Minerals, soap/ laundry detergent dry aroma, tastes sweetish, even a little syrupy and yet quite balanced. Light body, fizzy, long, sweeet finish.

33cl bottle. Simple pale lager. Strong hops hit your nose when you open a bottle (this was also noticeable for Ciuc Premium). Nothing outstanding in the looks. Medium body for a pale lager. Soft carbonation. Drinkable when served cold. Aftertaste of cardboard closer to the end.

I am delighted to be able to review this beer as it was brought all the way from its place of origin to me in New Zealand prior to my wedding. Many thanks to Andrei.
Appears golden yellow in colour with a thickish fluffy white head. Aroma of Eurolager which I suppose is a classic aroma, but I smell it and it could be Puntigamer from Austria, Warsteiner, Kronenbourg or Estrella Damm. I mean, it’s a pleasant enough smell, but hardly distinctive of this beer. Either way, it smells good enough to drink. The flavour is on an equal footing. Dryish with a faint metallic hoppy quality and twinges of green hoppiness. A slight pinching bitterness drives the want for another mouthful. I suppose I’m warm to this beer because of the gesture but I think my mark is fair enough.
