Superior Hoppy Belgian Ale. White very rich foam, small bubbles. Very hoppy, spicy, fruity flavour and full, heart warming body. Brewed at first at Van Steenberge, now brewed at Koningshoeven - La Trappe brewery.

On tap at bier bistro. Yellow colour, perfect white head maintained throughout the drink. Fresh grass and peaches on the nose. Tropical fruits in the mouth. A resinous finish. The alcohol is "dangerously" masked. Great beer.

750 ml bottle shared with best friend Alex. Bigger bottle produced superior carbonation into chalices. Delicious fragrant aromas of floral yeast peaches, oranges and grapes. Near perfect mouth feel with great hoppy resiny finish. Difficult task trying to combine tripel with west coast style ipa. Bottom line we both liked the brew. Highly recommend if you like ipas in general. Definetly we will continue to enjoy this one!

A yellow beer with big and white head. Aroma is fresh and fruitfull, yeast, some earthy sourness, oranges and overally slightly saison-like aroma. Flavour is quite dry with lot of bitterness, fruits and spicies, peppers and some warming alcohol when tasting at cold. Very easy to drink even so high alcohol content. With yeast the beer in more calm and I think it is better. Lot of hops, fruits, sourness; balanced, interesting and enjoyable beer.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2010 Hazy golden with white head. Lots of sediment. Smells of oranges and hops, and almost a touch wheaty. Tastes of sweet malts and hops with a touch of citrus. Full bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle 33cl. A cloudy copper beer with low head. Smell is on hops and malt. A very hopy beer, very bitter, specially on the finish, good resin aroma. Not too dry, with a good body, a nice hopy beer without lemony notes. Very long aftertaste, not bad.

Pours a medium yellow from bottle with small but frothy head, lots of sediment...wasn’t paying attention when I poured it. A very smooth, very tasty brew. I like this, enjoying another bottle right now in fact.

750 ml corked and caged bottle, shared with Brenn79. Pours orangeish yellow with quite a bit of floaties and some nice lace. Aroma is pepper, orange rind, cheese, buttered toast. Taste is bitter, then sweet; finishes bitter. Carbonation is high; full-bodied. Interesting. This beer seems like a noble, yet futile attempt by a Belgian brewer to create an iconic American style. It doesn’t quite work. I like the flavor and I enjoy the enthusasm, but this beer doesn’t reach the heights of the greatest American IPAs. I engoy this beer much more just thinking of it as a great Belgian ale.
