3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dmac (2509) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JUN 17, 2010
750 ml cork and caged bottle from Jonathan Ron purchased TODAY, yup bought and consumed in hours, weird for me. For something called Hop-It maybe it should be called Swetness-It. No detectable hops in the aroma or flavor, perhaps an old-old bottle? What is there is a honey brown body underneath a large frothy bright white head that leaves some lace and large outer edge of head creeping up the sides of my Sam Adams snifter. Aroma is sweet. I mean really sweet with lots of honey, white grapes, raw dough, honey topped bread and fruit esters. The body has a medium mouthfeel with well hidden alcohol, medium powered yet tight bubbly carbonation and a qucikly fading finish. Flavor is super sweet with lots of honey, hney suckle natural juices, honey topped bread, slight notes of yellow gradefruit, grains, a hint of pepper and spice. Not bad but what the hell, I thought this was supposed to be a "Superior Hoppy Belgian Ale". I would believe a "Superior Sweet Belgian Ale" but Hoppy my ass. Calling this Hoppy does not make me Happy.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Fred82 (1759) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 31, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2011 750ml bottle at a tasting.
Appearance : Hazy yellow.
Aroma : Belgian yeast, hops, some spices and esters. Fresh and crisp. Notes of passion fruits.
Taste : Some alcohol and spices. Finish a bit bitter.
Overall : Nice nose but taste is too hot. Too much alcohol and a bit too much spices. Not really refreshing. Looks like this wants to be a nice belgian pale ale with a hoppy crispiness but it fails at it because its too hot. Still, this is not a bad beer.

22oz bomber. This pours a bit weak and the aroma is not much on the nose. The taste though is exceptional and I can relate to the good ratings. Smooth for this style of brew and the hops are just right. I would buy again.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 konstifik (573) - SWEDEN - MAY 25, 2010
Bottle at Kafe Belgie, Utrecht. Straw color with a medium-size white head. Aroma is a nice mix of fruitiness from hops and belgian yeast, with the yeast in hops in good balance. Low-to-medium bitterness and low-to-medium body.

Have had on tap and in bottle now and can say that draft is better. The hops are much more rounded and the balance between the Belgian yeast and the hops works wonders. Nice fruit notes at the back as well.
