4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopheaven (89) - Eureka, California, USA - JAN 10, 2009
Can smell this one a mile away! Stunningly effervescent head looms like a cloud above a clear blonde body. Citrusy aroma with strong banana notes from the yeast. Hop presence is commanding; grassy, spicy, minty, piney... Flavors also of grapefruit, watermelon, candy sugar, bubblegum, and vanilla... The alcohol is masked very well, though some sweet malt sneaks through. Excellent body with a surprisingly dry, bitter finish. A very interesting beer... combines the sweet, delicious stylings of a Belgian Blonde with the decadent flavor of American-style overhopping, and is 9.5% abv to boot.

Bottle pours a slightly hazy, golden orange color with a dense foamy white blanket of a head. Aroma of hops, malt, pineapple, and spices. The flavor is quite hoppy with a very bitter, dry finish. The carbonation is quite active. The 9.5% is not completely hidden.

bottle poured a golden color with a great rush of initial carbination leaving a tall head. smell is peppery, hops, apricot, citrus, vanilla, and spice. taste is smooth with good carbination on the tongue, some spice bite, and a good dose of those hops. the alcohol at 9.5% is a compliment to the spices and hops in the beer and it all goes well together.

Magnum for x-mas from my partner John at work. What a guy. Semi-Hazy golden with a steady dense carbonationthat surprisingly yeilds a low th=ight head. Nose of litght malts with just a hint of bannana. First touch to tounge is bold and sweet. Hops and corriander are intertwined as they dance about your mouth. Alcohol is will disguised as this seems a mere 5 to 6 % boozer. A air ammount of trub and hop shards flaoating about in the bottom meant a good settle and slow pour from the get go.

A 0.33L bottle tasted at Kaisla. Mild slightly apple like nose. Soft taste with some apple hints. Some hoppy bite at the end. Pale hey coloured. Alcohol well hidden. After botto added some hzyness and floating particles.

Bottle from Whole Foods. Pours a massive white head and a golden blonde color. The nose is peppery with notes of grains and a hint of piney hops. Same flavors with banana, clove, a noticeable hops bitterness, and astringent alcohol that bites in the 1st couple sips. Mouthfeel is creamy and rounded. Soft/medium carbonation and medium/full body. Not bad, nothing special here.
