3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 beerad666 (2) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 19, 2008 does not count
Had this beer at Cooper’s Bar in Chicago. It was poured from a 11.2oz bottle. Poured a light hazy orange with a big white fluffy head. The aroma was very fruity, typical of a Belgian. When I took my first drink I thought the hops were going to stand out more, but they only mildly appeared as an after taste. For a beer called "Hop It" I was a little disappointed, but it was hard to believe that this guy was 9.5%... well masked.
I’m glad I tried it but I won’t be reaching for it again.

75cl bottle courtesy of markwise. Pours a hazy bright golden with a massive thick and foamy white head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is much like that of a tripel ale--sweet malt, honey, caramel, some spice --with the addition of some hoppiness. Flavor is much of the same with lively carbonation, sweet malt, honey, caramel, candy sugar and just a slight balance of hoppiness toward finish. Generally medium body with a sweet, slightly bitter finish.

I enjoyed this beer. Smooth and hoppy, well balanced. Nice color and even mouthfeel. Hard to believe it was 9.5%. very well hidden.

Crushed with Jakebra. It’s kinda skunky with a little skunk thrown in. Some floaties make me happy, but this is like King Fisher with higher alcohol.

11:13, K12A7: hazy gold, thin white head, soapy ring; minimal carbonation, slick, smooth; sweet, spicy, fruity ale, with no alcohol in flavor, but with interestingly faint notes of smoke and ham.

Pours a hazy golden/orange with a medium thin sudsy white head. Strong aroma of noble hops and Belgian candi sugars and a bittering yeast note with some alcohol. Strong tripe flavor, malty, fruity, and yeasty... the hops are not so extreme. Pretty straight forward with present alcohol. Lighter bodied with plenty of fizzy carbonation that isn’t bothersome as it can be in many Belgians. I prefer houblon.
