3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Palme (1200) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2011
0.75l bottle. This pours a nice clear unfiltered champagne-golden body with a white lacing light fluffy white head. Lots of fruity hops in the aroma along with some strawberries, light fruity Belgian yeast and some nice sweet malts. It’s lively carbonated, medium-bodied and it has a nice almost creamy mouthfeeling. Flavors are hopy, some sweetness, it has a really good bitterness and it has strong notes of alcohol and some pine in the finish. Good indeed, and I really like the nice little gnome on the logo - made by the brewmasters wife, Bas.

Bottle. Pours golden, with a thick, creamy head. Spicy aroma, with notes of citrus and herby hops. Flavour is lemon, grapefruit and some lightly burned malts. Zesty finish, with a bitter citrusy grapefruit.

pint at against the grain in toronto. golden with a lasting white head and terrific lacing. beautiful pint to look at. aroma of belgian phenols and big hopping. the flavour is of a big hoppy blonde belgian strong ale. decent enough. nice to get a pint for $6 and change.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (663) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - AUG 1, 2011
Golden colour, fluffy white head. Aroma malty and belgian tripple like. Quite spicy, vanilla, citrus. Slight peppery hops coming through, and a quite strong alcohol kick. Flavour rather sweet malty. Citrus, yeast. Hops touch, peppery hops like in a Belgian tripple, and not as much hops as the name would suggest. Finish bit sticky with a hoppy bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BeerLimey (2112) - California, USA - JUL 18, 2011
[Bottle] Lightly clouded golden hue, lively and enduring head formation. Lemon and pepper on the nose. Biscuity malt and sweet lemon flavor but a nice amount of peppery spice too. Hops are not the citrussy kind that an American might expect, more the peppery earthy variety. Pretty good.
4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Gary (1013) - London and Rochester, Kent, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2011
(Bottled) . I was left looking at the awesome glowing yellow in the goblet and smiling after each sip and I may wax lyrical and proclaim this one of the most plesaurable beers ive had today (ok ,this year). A beer that’s charming and somewhat Saison like in character . The beer is all about unity between fruity esters ,earthy hoppy spiciness and lovely rich malt backdrop ...im not gonna say an orgy of flavours -cause orgies are not classy and this is . A damn stylish ale.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 erickok (802) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - JUL 16, 2011
Very clear, golden body with white head. Not impressed. Moderate aroma with fresh herbs like coriander and mint, together with white bread and grass. Don’t know where those hop-it hops are. Well the aftertaste is dry but that’s it. Run of the mill mouth feel. Too high ABV too. (33cl bottle)
