Barnyard smell when you open this one. Trust me, it really stinks. I like the idea behind Hop-It, but I found it to be a little weird in execution. The hops come out, but I feel like they shouldn’t be there at all.
2.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jmagnus87 (520) - Carbondale, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2011
From a 11.2oz bottle poured into my Chimay Trappist glass....first thing I notice is it smells absolutely awful...this will be interesting.
Pours a hazy gold with a thick frothy bright white head that lasts for a while leaving good lacing.
Aroma is straight nasty. Like hops that have spoiled then were thrown in a dank swamp. Something else is there too. Like a road-kill skunk...just not pleasant at all.
I’m nervous about the taste, but here goes nothing...its surprisingly not bad. Medium bitter and lightly both sweet and sour. There is definitely some resiny hop notes there and even some sweet bready malt.
Medium bodied with a bit of a sticky texture. Very fizzy carbonation and an average finish.
Overall, its not bad. The smell is absolutly awful but the taste isn’t too bad. Nothing I would pay 5 bucks per bottle for ever again but worth the try once.

I do like this one, but the score is kinda low. Might have to retry this one sometime. Could use a bit more hops. Glass looks nice though.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Shag (2229) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - JUN 22, 2011
Poured a dark golden color. Aroma is soapy with some citrus and funk. Flavor is bitter and grassy. Harsh and not enjoyable. Im a hophead so its not that. I can’t wait for this to be over.

Bottle (75cl) from Vinmonopolet (Oslo). Clear, golden colour, with miniscule particles floating around. Huge white head, good retention, nice lacing. Nose of hops, herbs, yeast, butter, honey, elderflower. Medium body, alcohol well hidden. Average/fizzy carbonation. Well-balanced - sweet at first, then a powerful hop bitterness gradually dominates. Finishes relatively dry, with a herbal bitterness.
