Draught: Had this one many years ago and found some old notes that I updated and spiced up a bit. Medium white head on top of a dark orange to shiny brown colored beer. Smell some malts, sweets, fruits and a hint of hops. Taste is pretty fresh and pretty tasty: sweets, fruits, hops and some malts. More sweet than bitter.

14/11/10/8/12/10

330 ml bottle. Slightly hazy, reddish brown body with a big, foamy beige head. Aroma of fresh citrus fruit, spices and some caramel malt. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, fruit and spices, quite complex and delicious harmonic.

On tap @ de Geuzen, an old keg, a few months ago. Reddish brown colour, big off-white head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, dark fruits, some chocolate. Flavour is very sweet, brown sugar, roasted malt, some mineral notes. Dry finish. Too sweet for me.

33 cl. bottle at home: dark cherry brown brew with a very light haze. Large bubbled medium dark tan rocky head that slowly fades to a thin film leaving behind decent lace. Aromas of brown sugar, and spiced apple cider. Lightly caramelized apples gives way to darker fruits when swirled up. Always a full spice and some herb running constant through all other aromas. Some toasted malt and even amaretto cookies can be conjured up with some swirling. The cidery spiced apples make an upfront appearance on the tongue. This is followed by raw cane sugar, then some malt, and then again, tart cider. Starts mildly bitter (herbal yeasty) but quickly turns sweet and ends on old tart apples and licorice. Licorice becomes more pronounced as the beer warms up. Slight touch of tea leaves left on the tongue. A bit "cidery" for me. Just like one of my failed homebrew experiments with apples.

Very sweet and malty, light chocolate smell. Large off-white rocky/frothy head, long lasting; dark red body. Moderate acidic start, light sweet finish. Light alcoholic finish, creamy texture, medium body, lively carbonation.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense light tan head. Aroma is light fruity with a mild note of caramel malt. Flavour holds a smooth and fruity Belgian yeast note. Smooth wineous and fruity flavoured. Subdued sweetness from the malt base and a mellow yeast note into the finish. Ends with a mild chalky note and a yeast accent, light fruity (dried) flavour too. Honey? I think so, the beer has that light sweet and herbal flavour of honey to it. Nice.
