33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a dense light tan head. Aroma is light fruity with a mild note of caramel malt. Flavour holds a smooth and fruity Belgian yeast note. Smooth wineous and fruity flavoured. Subdued sweetness from the malt base and a mellow yeast note into the finish. Ends with a mild chalky note and a yeast accent, light fruity (dried) flavour too. Honey? I think so, the beer has that light sweet and herbal flavour of honey to it. Nice.

I thought maybe my bottle had been jostled at some point and that was why it foamed so hugely when I opened it, but based on the other comments here, I guess this is just a beer with a big head. Decent tasting, but not best in class among Belgians.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2005 Clear dark brown color, short lasting head. Weak aroma, malts. Easy drinkable. Bit roasted malts flavor, bit licorice, roasted bacon, salami. German-like beer. Quite dry palate, but also tasteful.

Tap, ZBF 2004. Deep chestnut brown, good beige head and moderate condition. Fruity yeast, sweet malt and some low roasted notes in the nose. Slight fruity maltiness in the mouth and some short traces in the finish. Name is more impressive, and more of a mouthful, than the beer itself.

Has about the thickest head I have ever seen on a beer - points off for being so ridiculously heady - it is like a root beer float - in fact, it was still there the next morning as I did not finish before I nodded off!. Dark brown , fading to black appearance. Aroma of Apple Bubble Yum and tobacco juice - not quite cloying - but edging in that direction. Flavor has some apple juice qualities to it with some sugar candy sweetness mixed in. Not much of a hop presence, almost too sweet to enjoy. Mouthfeel is thick enough.

Bottled @ KØ 2005: Dark amber coloured. Clear. Brownish head. Fruity, light flowery, sweet and acidic beer. Light yeasty. Has some apple charachters in the end. Quite tasty.

Deep amber color with a slight off white head. The taste is very malty with light sweet fruity notes. The malts is overwhelming and a little to dominant.

Doughy, cookie dough aroma with biscuity chocolate malt character underneath. Opaque brown-amber body with low but very long lasting, off white head that recedes to a thick and lasting cover with plenty of lace. Doughy, yeasty, sugary sweet flavour with some caramel and plenty of alcohol apparent. Medium body is very dry with fizzy carbonation that leaves it feeling a bit too gassy and sharp. Bottle sampled at Den Tatoverede Enke in Copenhagen.

Bottled (BB 06/2006)
Ruby color and beautiful big cloudy tanned head. Sweet berries aroma (strawberry), some sweet yeasts (typical to these Urthel beers). Very carbonated mouthfeel. Sweetish with red currant juice flavor. Hints of hops in the aftertaste and a bit of licorice or something salty. Light (only 5,9 % alcohol here), almost I could say Belgium session beer.
