Urthel Parlus Magnificum (was: Vlaemse Bock)

glass to bottle. scent of overwhelmingly of caramel. pours dark ruby red with lite brown thick head. flavor is of yeast, honey, figs, caramel. definitely let it breathe for a couple of minutes after pouring-sip it too soon is overpowering. good stuff.

Sampled in the presentation tent at WBF Raleigh. Berry red color, huge head, caramel, yeast, raisin and green apple aroma. Taste is citrus, banana and other fruits.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a huge brownish white head. Malty aroma with some hops in the back ground. Malty flavor which covered the alcohol well. Pretty good.

thanks to beior foe this. A nice cloudy brown with creaky white head. Sweet caramel male aroma with the usual bock character.

Smellf pretty nice I suppose. Some chocolaty notes. Flavor is stronger in terms of alcohol than I’d like. Mostly an indistinct beer, nothing amazingly good or bad.

Bottled. Deep ruby red. Large off-white head. Spicy toffee-aroma. Spicy and yeasty flavour; wormwood. Dry bitterness.

Pours a very dark chestnut brown with a dense, thick light tan head. Aroma is slightly herbal, some vague scents of something like anise, toasted malts. Taste has some sweetness and Belgian yeast characters and a slight sourish twang on the finish. Kind of refreshing and an interesting take on the dubbel.

Dark brown with an off white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Taste is less sweet with yeast, leather, plum, toasted malt and a little sourness like forest fruits. Bitter finish. Delicious.
