Pours a murky brown color with a frothy, bone colored head. Somewhat bready, sweet malt aroma with some prunes and a hint (slightest hint) of some bubblegum phenols. A rich, c hocolatly dubbel with big caramel, toffee and fruit notes. Charcoal-like dry finish. There’s not much bock-like about this beer; it’s a strange name. I really enjoy the beer. travita (1908), Frisco, Texas, USA

Pours a deep red mahogany with a large foamy beige head. Aroma is fruity, with strawberries mixing in with caramel, toffee, raisins. Nice high carbonation. Flavour is surprisingly ’dark’, with chocolate dominating. There is some tones of dried, dark fruits as well, but the chocolate really stands out. Ver dry finish with chocolate and slight hoppiness. Some nuts and very powerful roasted caramel. Quite warming, but there is not much viniousness. But there is an unwanted metallic side to it that it just will not let go of. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
