Pours a very dark ruby with a tan head off a firm pour that falls to almost nothing, but still leaves a little bit around. Nose is a mix of alcohol and yeasty fruit. Smooth malty flavor with a good bit of sugar. The beer has a lot of carbonation, but it doesn’t really hit the tongue too much. Liquid feel is pretty smooth and hearty enough.

It seems to me that the Belgian versions of non-Belgian styles never quite get away from tasting like a Belgian style beer. This "bock" is no exception...it is more like a dubbel than a bock for sure. Not bad though. This beer poured a red-brown color with a a soapy head. It had a red wine aroma, by which I mean I thought I got some tannin, a touch of sour and some grapiness. Flavor was some sourness with a full red-wine mouthfeel. It wasn’t very bock-like; rather it was more like Grand Cru to me. Not bad. Weakly recommended.

Big sweet maltyness on the nose. Hazy dark amber color. Small head. Sweet, malty and bitter taste. Leathery finish. Alcohol in the late finish.

A little surprised that this is labelled a Dubbel Pours a dark amber-ruby with a medium creamy tan head Aroma is soft sweet malts, earthy caramel and some hazelnut tones. Flavour is rich caramel maltiness, some nuttiness as well. The hoppiness comes through towards the finish with an herbal bitterness that blends well with the light coffee tones of the malt.

Very earthy aroma - much like chocolate, fresh soil (the good smelling soil) and sweetness. Notes of earth, coffee, and cola in this one.

Pours dark reddish brown with big beige head. Aromas are powerful- lots of raisin and prune, with molasses and honey. Tons of fruity esters- banana, raspberry, and apricot. Some clove, ginger, and nuttiness in there as well. Flavor is very sweet at first, with lots of dark fruit and brown sugar. Then turns slightly acidic with a sharp sense to it. Palate isn’t completely full- some smooth texture subsiding into some prickly and almost sharp acidity. Finish is quite dry. A decent offering, but nothing fantastic.
