First brewed in November 2009. Top-fermented blond bottle conditioned beer. Urthel Saisonnière has a wide range of rich aromas and a subtle bitter taste. at 6.0% abv it is a thirst-quenching beer with a "bite". It produces a beautiful foam head due to the 20% of wheat. To fully enjoy Urthel Saisonnière, first pour half the bottle, then give it a twist (3x) to release the yeast and the wheat from the bottom and then pour the rest of the bottle into the glass.

11.2oz bottle. Hazy pale yellow-tan-orange. Nice fluffy off-white head. Herbal, grassy aroma, nice interplay between the hops and yeast. Grassy and herbal, kind of what US spice bomb Saisons go for and fail miserably. Luscious champagne effervescence. Grassy lemon tones. A really great Blonde or Saison. Smooth, almost medium bodied. Super drinkable. Peppery hop presence lingers in the aftertaste. World Class, delicate, great beer.

On tap at Apex, pours a clear golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of dry green apples and pears, Belgian yeast and some toasted bread. Flavour is quite dry, with yeast, toasted dry bread and yeast. Fairly bland but refreshing all the same. Decent, but uninteresting.

Bottle by 06-2014. Lightly fruity/candy sweet nose with yeast and earthy hops. Dull blonde with a creamy, lacing rocky white head. Taste is very dry with a heavy yeast character, has some doughy-bread touches into the aftertaste, where the spice kicks up and light noble hops bite. Hint of vanilla behind the wall of wheat. Lightly woody/resinous/scratchy medium body. Like the yeast character, but it is a little plain and is really the only thrust here (though the hops are well-conceived in a supporting role); maybe some malt variation would help?
