3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft, and therefore filtered, at Prime 16. Decent mouthfeel. Good pepper, spicy tastes. Suitable carbonation. Whitish saison colours. A good drinkable saison, nothing out of the ordinary.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled July 2010 waiting on a Belgian Cat 4 waiting for The Tour de France to roll through
The beer pours with a brilliantly clear, pale blonde color and is topped by a frothy, barely tan tinged, off-white colored head that is dense and creamy and leaves quite a bit of lace. The beer smells of lemon-like hops, and a nice grassy-grain pale malt character.
The beer is soft and creamy feeling, but a fizzy carbonation brushes the palate quite clean. A touch of pale-malt sweetness is here, but this finishes dry with a grassy, herbal like hop character and firm bitterness in the finish that dries things out considerably. There is also a hay-like grain note in the finish. Lemon like hop flavors compliment nicely with the pale malt sweetness as well as with the grassy herbal hop components. While soft and creamy textured, this beer is still quite quaffable and light; I have been drinking lots of Lambic so this seems heavy comparatively, but really it is quite light and drinkable. Yeast derived notes contributes a spicy, clove-like, earthy, rustic yeast flavors to the beer.
It is quite nice to be drinking this beer as I wait for the Tour de France to roll over this small category 4 hill out in the Belgian countryside. The rustic yeast character combines with the hops and characterful pale malt character quite well. This is definitely a beer that fits the situation quite well.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled (Alvinne shop, BB 05/2012)
Slightly hazy golden color, big cloudy white head. Aroma has honey, peach, alcohol and green apples, similar to some bulk malt liquers! Medium-bodied. Certainly not a Saison but Belgian blonde. Flavor is similar to aroma; fruity Belgian yeastyness, pepper, honey, apple, some alcohol and grassy notes. Solid Urthel, not exciting, but .. solid.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy gold - lively pour, with a huge, well-sustained, soapy head - a lot of particulate/floaties that look like fine grains of sand floating in it, which keeps it from getting a 5 for appearance - very dry and spicy/peppery aroma, with moderate mineral character, dusty yeast and crackery malts - some underlying orange marmalade sweetness and clove - full but soft carbonation - very dry, with flinty/mineral qualities, crisp malts, herbal bitterness, pepper - mild phenols throughout - long, dry, bitter finish - pretty dang good.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
7/30/10 notes: Herbal, floral, fragrant nose. Flavor features sweet flowers, grains, cut grass; a racy profile. Middle flavors begin turning towards characteristic Urthel bitterness, maintaining some pressed flower elements. The combination of thin body and bitterness lends too much sharpness to this brew.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A nice underrated, under the radar saison. Good price point too for an import at $3.50 a bottle. It pours clear gold with a huge white head. The aroma is spicy with a bit of sulphur and pepper and hints of vanilla, citrus peel, and pear. The flavor is dry and very spicy, peppery with a huge citrusy bitter finish. Full bodied and flavorful. A really nice saison.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a murky golden with a nice long lasting creamy head. Aroma of citrusy hops with some sweet light malt. Taste is light bitter hops and sweet nutty malt. Palate is light and crisp with good carbonation. Finish is bitter hops with light sweet nutty malt, a bit on the bitter side. Overall an ok brew nothing special here.
