COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unfiltered in bottle, filtered in keg.
Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, Wheat (20%), Sugar, Yeast.
First brewed in November 2009. Top-fermented blond bottle conditioned beer. Urthel Saisonnière has a wide range of rich aromas and a subtle bitter taste. at 6.0% abv it is a thirst-quenching beer with a "bite". It produces a beautiful foam head due to the 20% of wheat. To fully enjoy Urthel Saisonnière, first pour half the bottle, then give it a twist (3x) to release the yeast and the wheat from the bottom and then pour the rest of the bottle into the glass.

Pours a hazy shade of golden straw. Big creamy head that sticks around and laces the glass very nicely. Clove, bananas, a little bubblegum. Very much like a typical blonde. Nothing distracting or annoying about it. A little clove on the front with a very fruity banana presence. A little sweet, but just about right. Smooth. Spicy due to the abundance of carbonation. Not sticky sweet, which might be the conclusion for the taste. Very drinkable. Not harsh, not hot. A pleasant beverage to drink while mulling over the day. Probably my favorite Urthel to date, although Hop-It is good as well.

330ml bottle from IPB..
Appearance : Clear pale yellow with medium foamy white head. Not much lacing.
Aroma : Spices and yeast. Nice malt with light crisp hops. A bit citrusy too. Really fresh. Light honey.
Taste : Spices and yeast. Some malt with light hops. Not as citrusy as nose. Finish quite yeasty with light spices. Finish is a bit dusty.
Overall : Nice fresh nose with enjoyable light hops. Taste is not bad either. Quite yeasty overall. Very drinkable and rather refreshing. Nothing to write home about.

Bottled (from beerplanet.eu). Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized creamy slightly off-white head that settles quite quicly. Leaves some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild yeast, quite much fruityness as well as mild spicyness. Flavour is rather sweet malts, some zesty notes, mild wooden notes as well as some yeast and mild spices. As it warms up, it gets some mild barnyardy notes in the aroma.

I poured an 11.2 oz bottle into a glass tulip... The beer is a hazy, pale, yellow with a lofty, pillowy white head that remained throughout the process. Smells of wheat, lemon, banana, clove and some hints of sourbread. This is the first farmhouse ale that I’ve had so I don’t know what to compare it to. In my opinion it tastes pretty good, there is some grassy hop flavors followed by hints of lemon, and wheat, it ends up being salty followed by a slight bitterness. It is full bodied but still light, lots of soft carbonation and a very dry finish. I enjoyed drinking this but the salty flavor and high carbonation would limit me from drinking more than one.

Draught @ Akkurat. Pours golden, big white head, semi hazy. Earthy, (belgian) yeasty nose. Flowery taste with notes of berry sweetness and white pepper. Ends hoppy and bitter in a currant seeds way. Maybe a little too sharp.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average to large and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light fruitiness, some citrus and spiciness (pepper). Body is medium, malty and lightly sweetish, spiciness (pepper), yeastiness. Finish is average, malty and dryish, some pepper and alcohol. OK dryish strong ale, pepper – otherwise not much spiciness.
