Unfiltered in bottle, filtered in keg.
Ingredients: Water, Barley malt, Wheat (20%), Sugar, Yeast.
First brewed in November 2009. Top-fermented blond bottle conditioned beer. Urthel Saisonnière has a wide range of rich aromas and a subtle bitter taste. at 6.0% abv it is a thirst-quenching beer with a "bite". It produces a beautiful foam head due to the 20% of wheat. To fully enjoy Urthel Saisonnière, first pour half the bottle, then give it a twist (3x) to release the yeast and the wheat from the bottom and then pour the rest of the bottle into the glass.

(11.2oz bottle thanks to blutt59) clearish pale yellow with a nice lasting tight-bubbled off-white head. Nose of butter, grain, apple, wildflowers. Taste is spicy, floral, earth, hairspray, with an oily well carbonated finish.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours with a large white head and a hazy golden body. Aroma of lemon, pepper, and cleaning products. Taste is lemon, harshly bitter with some thistle. Lively bubbles.

Tasting - The Wine Source. Hazed gold, thin creamy head. Peppered pear and citrus nose with lighter undercurrents of cotton candy througout. Dry fruity hops balance well on a yeasty peppered backbone. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, lightly bittersweet finish. Refreshing in the warm summer months...

Bottle 33 cl. Pours copper with a big white head and an aroma of hops, yeast and fruits. The flavour is partly sweet and partly bitter, with hints of hops, dark fruit, sweet malts, mixed spices and caramel. A drinkable beer and not bad at all

looks: firm white head and a light blond color. smell: dry yeast smell and a little fruityness, abricot and aplle. Taste: peppery and yeasty start with a medium body. the beer is warming, althoug only 6%. long lingering dry (yeasty) bitterness. Good brew, but I prefer more complexity in the taste.

I think I might say this is in about the same vein as a saison though perhaps I am being overly influenced by the beer’s name. It certainly looks the part w/ its heavily hazed straw golden color and big foamy white head. There are lots of florals in the nose, lavender specifically, and a generally fruity bananas and clove Belgian yeast character along w/ an earthy note that might be attributable to hops. The bracing bitterness is surprisingly strong yet not at all unpleasant. We’re talking in the APA range as far as bitterness goes though in an entirely different context. The carbonation though is all Belgian, brisk and vigorous yet soft. It adds a pleasant lightness of texture which compliments the bitterness and helps beg for another sip. Possibly this does not have the tartness or funk associated w/ many great saisons but certainly serves the same purpose in being a wonderfully drinkable and relatively sessionable Belgian ale.

pours a yellow/light orange. nice two finger head of foam. first notes are spicy with a little breadiness. sparkly with a Belgian yeast aroma. A bit harsh for a saison.

A: This one pours a golden color with a huge white head and a bit of haze in the glass. S: The typical Saison aromas of pepper and lemon with some pleasant yeastiness. A bready malt and hint of sugar round things out, but not all that much in terms of funk. T: A nice refreshing beer with a mild sweetness to go along with the citrus and spice components. The bitterness is moderate and works nicely the mild funk. Unfortunately, a bit too much alcohol comes through on this one. M: Crisp and refreshing on the tongue with a bite of bitterness on the finish. D: This was a really nice beer to have on a warm day out in the sun. Pretty refreshing as a Saison should be and one that I would have again.

Pours a very slight hazy golden yellow color with visible carbonation bubbling up and a to finger frothy/soapy white head that has excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap. Sporadic spots of lacing. Slightly earthy aroma with hints of soil, pine, peppery spice, faint honey, funk and light fruit notes. Hints of apple and pear with slight alcohol and subtle coriander. Lighter side of medium body with lots of crisp soft carbonation up front that creates a champagne like effervescence. Slightly slick mouthfeel with a syrupy texture. Slightly funky and earthy with subtle tartness. There is some earthy hop bitterness along with some peppery/coriander spice and light fruit notes, mostly banana, apple and pear. Drinkable but kind of like a Duvel/IPA/honey beer hybrid.

On tap at O’Briens in San Diego. Very refreshing! Pale golden color with high carbonation. Saison-style aroma, lots of grassy tones. Flavor is wheat malt, pear, lemon rind and a hint of orange citrus. Finishes with hay and an interesting flavor of wet earth. Simple throughout but highly enjoyable nevertheless.
