First brewed in November 2009. Top-fermented blond bottle conditioned beer. Urthel Saisonnière has a wide range of rich aromas and a subtle bitter taste. at 6.0% abv it is a thirst-quenching beer with a "bite". It produces a beautiful foam head due to the 20% of wheat. To fully enjoy Urthel Saisonnière, first pour half the bottle, then give it a twist (3x) to release the yeast and the wheat from the bottom and then pour the rest of the bottle into the glass.

Sampled on 6/26/2010. This Belgian ale/saison pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color from a 33cl bottle. Large sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal and fruity, sweet, slightly spicy and earthy. A medium to light bodied Belgian ale/saison. The malts are fruity and sweet with a touch of cereal. The hops are earthy. Lively carbonation. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pours a sand-colored foggy body with a medium, long-lasting white foamy top. Nose is coriander, citrus, clove and wheat. Taste is pepper, banana, dry hops, hints of molasses and grapefruit. Very, very dry and bitter finish; a bit too bitter considering the rest of this brew. Urthel Saisonniere is a very complex beer, which could’ve been really good with a bit more balancing technique.

Bottle. A hazy, lively, pale golden-orange beer topped by a big, white head with good longivity. There’s a good dash of citrus peel and also some hops, hay and biscuity pale malts. A faint barnyard aroma in the far back as the beer warms slightly. It’s medium bodied, effervescent and dry in the mouth. Yet there’s a sweetness in the flavor, like sweet oranges without almost all of the orange flavor. There’s also biscuity malts, hay, some sourness and spices. Not to forget the hops, which takes some time to appear, but runs most of the show in the finish. A very quenching one, easy drinkable and pretty damn tasteful too. 100702

Thanks to Hermann fro opening this one in Gent. clear golden pour, white head. aroma, nice fresh hoppy nose, citrus comes out nicely with a touch of grassy - tropical nose. flavors, caramel malts, brown sugar, light bitterness with some yeast. Some citrus hops adding to the bitterness. Reminded me of a farmhouse style. Some nice tropical notes come complement the finish.
