12 ounce bottle at the Bayou. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium off-white head. The aroma is a sweet sugary mix with some fruit. The flavor is sweet prunes, candies, dry yeast. Easygoing and pretty nice. Warm.

33cl bottle. Brown/dark orangish colour with a good formation of tan head at the beginning but mostly diminishes. Aroma is sweet, alcoholic, fruity and slightly spiced. Flavour is very sweet, dense on palate, bready and plumcake notes are present, moderate malty and a final moderate sweet and slightly bittery. Good balanced. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium to high. Texture is oily.

330 mL bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City, NC (11.0% according to the label). Murky brownish-orange pour with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, brown sugar, and booze. Huge malt profile in the flavor with Belgian candi sugars and caramel primarily and just a hint of fruitiness. The alcohol warming is noticeable but not distracting. A really well done quad.

Very good heavy beer. Malty tastes, with liquorice and the 11% alcohol very clear in the palate. Although heavy in alcohol, the beer is still well balanced. A warming beer.

Malty yet slightly bitter. This is a thinner abt but still powerful. Mouthfeel is fantastically different for the style. Almost drinkable! And I mean that in a good way.

Draught: Had this one many years ago and found some old notes that I updated and spiced up a bit. Light brown red colored beer. Medium pretty vast white head. Smell is sweeter with spicy hints of yeast, hops, malts, fruits and some grains. Taste is malty some light sweet bitter hints, but the alcohol is very present, though not that irritating. I liked the other beers from Urthel better, though not really bad.
