COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Urthel Samaranth 12 Quadrium Ale is a malty, full-bodied special Ale, brewed in a way that only Belgian Brewers can. Huge mouthfeel and layers and levels of flavor make Urthel Samaranth the perfect beer for the end of a meal or at the finish of a special day. And when you want something different, Urthel Samaranth 12 Quadrium Ale is with its fine bitterness, definitely something different... Try it! First brewed at Van Steenberge, now brewed at Koningshoeven - La Trappe brewery.

Purchased a 25.4 oz. bomber bottle. Appearance is a deep amber/light brown with a nice effervescence and a quarter inch head when poured. Smells like a deep malty ale, aroma is complex. Predominant flavors include raison, coffee, caramel and licorice. Medium-heavy bodied mouth feel, wonderful belgium yeast consistency. Although this is not my style of beer, much attention has been given to this beer’s execution. Well done!

Bottle. Pours a dark orange beer with a good head. Strong aroma with hints of fruits and alcohol. Dominant alcohol taste. Overall it’s still a good beer.

Pours a clear amber brown with a small amount of bubbly offwhite head. Aroma is cherries, caramel sweetness and a bit of medicinal booziness. Flavor is nicely balanced for an 11% beer. Generally a light mouthfeel, tart dark fruit flavor with a sticky sweetness and a boozy cough medicine finish (in a good way, if there is such a thing - reminds me of good old ludens cough drops).

Bottle. Dark brown with a small fluffy white head. Interesting aroma of malt, toffee, yeast, alcohol and bread. Taste was about the same. Body was almost full, warming alcohol. Good beer.

Rating #900
(due to glitch on the site it shows like #901 though) 03/03 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Doggythedog, thanks for sharing! It poured darker brown body with smaller to medium brownish head. Fine yeasty bubblegum aroma, some fine orange hops and of course dark sweet malt like caramel, toffee and dark chocolate. Flavor is fine, but it didn’t impress me. Well balanced, consisting of dark fruity and chocolate malt, paler biscuit malt and finally bitterish herbal and orange hops. Might seem complex but it’s not so much really, misses some quad characters (or possible aging). Full in body with alcohol being somewhat felt, but obviously present. Finish shows it even more, as its warming, sweetish malty. Very nice beer, but then, expected quite more from it!

Brownish ruby pour, tiny head, instantly dissipates. Aroma of old beer, malts and some fruit. Not very appealing. Flavour start very sweet of sugary fruits, then some bitterness with yeast. Alcohol quite present, but still nice

Bottle, 330ml. Pours a cloudy, maple colour, with all the yeast and earthiness visible, truly appealing! The aroms is pretty faint, notes of banana are present. The taste is strong with alcohol, complemented with a nice sweetness. Great quadrupel.

Had this at Pre ZBF March 5th 2010 Pours orange/amber with good clarity, white rim around the edges. There is sweet toffee apple, some banana, and loads of warmth. Crikey this is a big beer and don’t you know about it! A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.5
