COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Urthel Samaranth 12 Quadrium Ale is a malty, full-bodied special Ale, brewed in a way that only Belgian Brewers can. Huge mouthfeel and layers and levels of flavor make Urthel Samaranth the perfect beer for the end of a meal or at the finish of a special day. And when you want something different, Urthel Samaranth 12 Quadrium Ale is with its fine bitterness, definitely something different... Try it! First brewed at Van Steenberge, now brewed at Koningshoeven - La Trappe brewery.

11.2 oz. bottle. Rushes out of the bottle explosively, making a huge head of short duration over a reddish brown, body loaded with particulate matter...nose of cherry, raisin, plum, clove, toffee.....taste initially toffee malt, then bitter hop, then lingering cherry brandy finishing with astringent alcohol ....mouth feel medium, carbonation high. This was somewhat unbalanced.

Usually I’m pretty enamored with beers from this brewery, but this time...uhm, not so much. The beer pours out a medium amber color, a huge beige head with some serious lasting power. Sweet, undefined aroma with a touch of yeast and light spices. Spices, caramel, alcohol and dark fruits dominate the flavor.

Another treat from the Freakin Frog
Light brown with a slight red hue, never ending tan head and tons of sticky full glass lacing. Aromas of whisky, odd toffee, good malt, raisins early on, sweet spices, slight mild citrus. The taste was really nice as well with no detectable alcohol early, a bit of plum, interesting toffee, honey / orange mix is mild. Amazingly smooth and easy to drink. Slight zip, interesting hoppy bitter finish. Not your normal quad. I did need to drink this a bit warmer but the DFH 90 was sitting on the table....

bottled in Cafe Frape in Mestreech. Color is hazy dark copper with huge tan head. Nose is yeasty and spices. Aroma is spicey, caramel and sting of alcohol. Flavour has caramel spices, not really a beer for a hot July evening !
