33cl bottle poured in a Trappist glass. Pours dark brown with a thin white head which quickly dissipates. Taste is extremely sweet - caramel, bready, toffee much like Bush Noel mixed with Bombs and Grenades. Overall a good barley wine but a little flat and one dimensional. Some more depth to back the sweet notes would be nice.

33cl bottle. APPEARANCE: clear brown beer, small unstable off white head. NOSE: caramel, very sweet, little florar. TASTE: caramel, very sweet, oké, alcohol, it’s nice, but could be better for it’s ABV, alcohol warming rather clear.

Brown color with low foam. Intense aroma resulting from the combination of malt, caramel and toffee with raisins, dates, prunes and a hint of orange, accompanied by soft but strong hints of liquorice, aniseed and cinnamon. Dates on the taste, some orange, cherries, peppery spice and soft warm breath of alcohol, giving a deep and comforting end.

Dommage.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy dark red copper color, small though nice foamy beige head, reduces after a while to thin layer, good lacing; complex aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, toffee, fruit syrup, raisins, some coffee, some alcohol, hint of cinnamon; taste is moderate to full sweet, roasted, spicy; full-bodied, creamy texture, spicy on the tongue; full bittersweet finish, alcoholic hints.

Angenehm zu trinken ist es. Ein bisschen Pflaume, dazu ordentlich hefig und abgerundet im Hopfen. Vielleicht etwas zu viel Kohlensäure, aber vollkommen ok.
