Poured a hazt dark brown color with a small flat head. Aroms was almost completley of alcohol, but with a bit of dark fruits. Taste was a little less alcohol but still alot there and some fruit and caramel.

Jul 12, 2008 Nice pour of brown hued cloudy ale with a creamy head. Aroma of barley and dark fruit. The alcohol is obvious, as the sweetness of the brew just can’t hide it. Still, quite a pleasant heavier style of Belgian dark ale. I like it, but enjoy the Urthel Hibernus Quentum more. It’s just not balanced. It’d be best on a cold winter’s eve.

Jul 11, 2008 11.2 oz bottle: Brownish red pour with a persistent head that quickly diminishes but sticks around and laces well. The big ole nose offers a full whiff of ether first, then opens up to smallish notes of burnt caramel, bitter chocolate and earth as well as some yeast inspired notes of plum and jungle fruits. Rich and creamy body. The malt profile is fantastic - creamy caramel, marshmellow, vanilla, toffee and on and on. The esthers add a nice complexity with bourbony plums and raisans. Drinks easy for the ABV, but definitely warms the stomach. Good stuff.

Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent mostly lasting head. Orange-amber colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Nice fruity powerfull flavor. Great long finish. Creamy palate. Good but lacks the power of the very best ABTS.

Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. Hazy amber colour with a medium creamy head. Rich malty aroma and taste wiht notes of sugar and caramal. Sub standard abt, but easy drinkable.

Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are sugary sweet, fruits, alcohol and malt. Quite sweet.
