4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 17, 2009 I believe the full name of this beer is Urthel Tonicum Finiboldus Amber Ale. Except for the long name this is a nice beer. Long lasting head, full bodied and with a nice finish. Re-rate: BB 2006, sampled end 2009 (about 6 years old). Very nice fruity nose, lots of carbonation in mouthfeel. Disappointing flavour, watery, thin and very sour. Not worth aging.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Cloudy golden-orange/red body beneath moderate head. Light, foamy aroma leads to delicate fruit taste that includes fruit cake, brazil nut, and pear flavors. Adequate malt would be complemented by even a hint of hops. Good, but disappointing rlative to its style.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Amber coloured. Aroma of toffee and a hint of red wine, like in the Flemish red ales. Nicely malty, full bodied, seet with ony low bitterness. This is a wonderfully balanced and complex ale.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JUN 12, 2005 Bottled. Technically certainly not bad but to me it seemed like sucking on a rusty iron bar. It’s certainly not easy on the tongue. Cookie and spices aroma. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, light bitter, spices, iron and rust, bit sour towards the short finish.
