3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Huge cream-coloured, dense head; hazy orange beer, lively carbonation. Fresh-herbal & spicey nose. Pine-like hops, aroma like a herbal, yes, alcoholic tonicum. Taste both very spicey and hoppy, but sweet underbuild by roasted hops, toast-like. Whiff of honey flavour. Each new sop gives a lemony restart. Medium bodied. Alcohol's there, but subdued. Misses a longer aftertaste. Honesty compells me to concede I like this beer better and better. I think it's still being developped. This 75cl sample virtually even misses the Van Steenberge thumbprint, bravo!

4/VI/2012 - 33cl bottle @ Fokke’s place - BB: 8/VIII/2002 (2012-597) Thanks to Fokke for sharing the beer!
Clear dark amber to red brown beer, small white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, dried fruits (raisins, prunes), caramel, oranges, bit malty, dry, dusty, spices, little vinous. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty citric sour start, very surprising. Then green apples, caramel, malt, bit vinous, white grapes, port, madeira, orange peel. Aftertaste: slightly sour, malts, bit musty, vinous, some alcohol.

A pretty boring beer. A fruity bitterness but not much else. Not well rounded. Yellow in color with a lasting white head

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this one many years ago and found some old notes that I updated and spiced up a bit.
Off white head with a light hazy orange colored beer.
Smell fruit, malts, and something forest a like.
Taste is fruity with yeasty notes, some hops and a fine sweet bitterness.
I liked this.

(11.2 oz bottle). Caramel colored liquid with small white head. Hazy. Aroma of wet hair. Bitterness with a nice caramel taste and some sourness is present. Tastes better than it smells! I don’t think it hides the alcohol well. It’s an ok beer to me, but its leaves me wanting more.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma has hints of burnt toffee, cloves, and candy sugar. Flavor is similar, although mainly an emphasis on the sweet toffee/caramel notes. Nothing to much to talk about.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
bottle (bb 06/07/2006) thanks Jerohen, rating represents vintage. Amber almost brown cloudy bear, with small white head. Tastes sweet. Flavour is complex, though mainly caramel. Not a long finish, which is a shame. In general, a very good brew, but a little bit too sweet for my taste.

Bottle. Amber beer, big foamy head. Fruity aroma, carbonation. Flavour is amber-like, sweet malts, fruity, caramel. Too much carbonation and not my cup of beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thick and creamy, beautiful waves of foam seem almost iridescent atop this marmalade orange body. Despite the crowding sediment this is another gorgeous brew from Urthel, highlighted by superb lacing. The nose is attractive and unique as I have come to expect from Hildegard’s craft. The delightful smell of fromage blanc lends a smooth, fresh character accompanied by a slight lactic sourness. Scents of honey and butter add to that rich and sweet sensation, while the subtle notes of coriander, clove and banana lend additional complexity. The mouthfeel is more textural than flavorful, fluffy as whipped cream. Sadly a certain blandness takes over. Strawberry, caramel, plum and toast are apparent but don’t seem decisive enough. The experience is not completely amiss as this brew retains quite a rich body, a buttery yeasty quality that remains very drinkable. Finishing sweet with a hint of coffee, this a decent beer with enough unique accents to make it worth seeking out.
