3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Foxy-amber beer with a small, amber-beige head. Very caramelly nose, even toffee. Brown sugar, and a touch of lactic. Sweet with an edge. Sweet taste. Flavour & retronasal aromas lean completely towards chocolate, sweetened cacao, with a strange fruity edge. There’s still some toffee, retronasal again. It’s really quite sweet, but avoids cloying. It’s weak point is that it gives too much of light, watery impression, not fulfilling its promises. Aftertaste give a (false?) impression of sourishness, but remaining completely fruity, like oranges. Very strange brew - this second try after several years is better than my original recall. Somehow, this seems to be a relatively simple ale, that wants to be an Oud Bruin, but missing the right ferments.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
(bottle) Clear amber colour with a short foamy tanned head. Moderately sweet nutty caramel-malty aroma with vanilla and a shy background of dried fruits. Medium sweet flavour, medium bodied, smooth carbonated. Malty taste with strong notes of caramel, also raisins. Bitter and slightly hoppy finish. Strange brew, but drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Nice sweet but also strange kind of aroma. Not a flavor you taste often in a beer, its a very unique beer. Still not figured out what kind of taste it has.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle 30 cl) Dark amber coloured beer with floating impurities. Nice, creamy and lacing head. Nice notes of dark, roasted malt with hints of caramel and a bitter finish to even things out. I have no idea why this is typecasted as a Flemish Sour, this is just a Bock - but a good one. 020304
