Cask at Norwich Beer Festival 2012. A pleasant honeyed flavour, excellently balanced out by subtle hops. A beer that’s punching way above its weight. Excellent, for this ABV.

Cask conditioned at The Squirrel, Coventry. Amber with white head. Malty, almost tasteless beer, thin on the palate, very little to get worked up about.

500ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is earthy with some citrus notes and caramel. Taste is earthy and citrus hop bitterness with a grainy caramel malty sweetness. Light bodied with some good carbonation leaving a nice sensation on the palate. A pretty nice bitter with nicely balanced flavors.

On cask at Ty Mawr Hotel, Llanbedr. Amber pour with a white head. Quite fruity and spicy with an earthy taste. Very pleasant for such a low ABV beer.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2011 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Copper with a small white head. Malty aroma with a bit of sulphur. Taste is sweet, malty and bready. Some bitterness. A bit lively, but I really enjoyed this solid, old fashioned beer. 3.5.11. Same location. Egg in the aroma at first. Grainy malt taste. Dull, straightforward ale. Rating: 5,4,6,4,12:3.1
